Whatever the situation, I get the impression that they still don't fully understand the pace differential. They're obviously in a tricky situation because they have to be positive about the car, and their chances of improving.
They are about to hit the RWD preferred tracks, and must see podiums as essential.
On the other hand, PMR now have a period of grace to continue development, before they should have strong showing late season.
TD, WSR and Speedworks will be hoping to consolidate their positions at the top, before everyone starts taking points from each other late on.

Only if you assume that Plato is lying about there being something wrong with his car after the crash at Brands.

He was the fastest of all the Subarus at Brands and half a second faster than Cole on that small circuit.

I wouldn't say that. There are a lot of people on social media saying that this season is a bit flat with Plato at the back.

As an Ingram/Turkington fan I should be really enjoying this season but so far I'm not impressed with it. Too many red flags and there just doesn't seem too be an edge to it.

Article currently on Autosport stating TOCA will be investigating the boost calculations on the Ford and Subaru after spotting an anomaly with how the power is used. Both engines are built by Mountune and only they suffer with it. They can make any changes up to 30 minutes before usage so will be monitored all weekend by sounds of it

He still was about that if you look at best lap charts.
JP vs JC

R5 - 1:11.471 vs 1:12.353
R6 - 1:21.250 vs 1:22.189
R7 - 1:17.971 vs 1:18.549
R8 - 1:19.556 vs 1:19.529
R9 - 1:18.045 vs 1:18.483

After his 'big jump forward', and solving the Subaru riddle - he's moved from being nearly 1s a lap quicker than Cole to 0.5s quicker!

At the same time, his delta to Sutton at R6 was 0.1s and at R9 was 0.5s.
I don't buy that it was a problem carried over from Brands, which has now been solved, because the numbers don't reflect that. He was still off Sutton's pace in sector 2 - so perhaps he should turn the engine up a bit?

Oh of course! That explains why he hasn't ever exceeded 19th in the drivers' championship- it all makes sense now- it's all Plato's fault for that fateful day at Silverstone! He must have seen it coming because somehow it affected his results before that day too!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do the drivers adjust the boost? can they do it from inside the car?

As I understand it, all teams use the same Garrett/Owen turbo unit which has a manually adjusted pressure control regulator attached to the compressor housing. This is adjusted to a set pressure for each car, and the setting is checked under scrutineering.
There is no option for drivers to make a change from within the car.

Sounds promising. Looks hopeful that 888, BMR and Motorbase will all be quicker this weekend - could be even closer and more competitive at the front!

Will be interesting to see if Ingram can hang on as the leader, certainly very impressive so far, though I think Turks will take over at the top within the next two rounds

Depending on how they assess performance, Motorbase could do very well out of this weekend. The RWD friendly nature might mask problems with the Subaru, but leave the Ford exposed as down on delivery of power.

I was having a quick look round the net and found a picture of the WSR BMW steering wheel, they appear to have a rotary switch numbered 1-2-3-4, it is labelled "Map" would they not be able to have different maps all with different boost levels?

Maybe but they would still have to comply with the maximum boost levels that TOCA gave them. I would think the maps would be more to do with start up, running under safety car, throttle pedal percentages for wet tracks etc.

If it looks like the dial in the picture below, you can see that it is (probably) for the power steering maps.
