COVENTRY Speedway is deeply saddened to hear of the death of Lakeside Hammers captain Lee Richardson. Lee died in Poland on Sunday as a result of injuries sustained in a racing accident in an Extraliga meeting in Wroclaw. Lee was a former Coventry rider, racing for the Bees between 2000 and 2003, winning the Elite League Riders’ Championship during his final season with the club. He then went on to race for current Bees owner Mick Horton at Peterborough in 2004. Coventry wish to extend our thoughts and best wishes to Lee’s family, friends and all at Lakeside at this very sad time. |
