I would imagine there are some very unhappy BRASS MONKEYS around after the weather out at Sandown today.

Good to see #4 make it to the end of today's races in one piece.

Friday practice might see a surprise......

The 458 GT3 should be making an apearance.

Not race ready yet though.

but actually, I don't think any friday practice is ever televised, as you know.

Unless some trust funded cheque writers pay the tv co. fees of course.

Thanks RB, seen that one. A forum well suited to FFC 'style'. At least Scudd has a crack and writes his own cheques.

Anyhow, back on topic...looking forward to watching the sports cars at PI next weekend.

Marque sports is a great group, years ago i ran a Carrera in historic SC,front running car then other meetings ran it on slicks in Marque sports at the back of the field, good bunch to race with.

Always enjoy the Cue one hour races, even if we keep mucking them up. Great variety of makes and a great competitor group with excellent racing etiquette. I'm sure the Vic State races are the same.

We would have been there but unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, we'll be on stage at Motorclassica and talking with Derek Bell.
Would have been good story though.
We will have footage from the meeting though on Tuesday night on In Pit Lane at 9:00pm.

I'm sunburnt. Good racing, Great in the Saloon cars, and a big HQ crash on the main straight.
Both drivers OK but very sore, they were lucky with all that fuel everywhere.
Bad luck for young Adrian Lazzaro who looked set to win the F Ford championship till he tangled with Brian Sampson in the last race.
The kid was heartbroken after a tough week as he had been a team mate and friend of Dan Wheldon after he raced karts with him in the States.
Lachlan Marshall, who is only 17 himself won the series.
Ted Huglin lost an almost certain Victorian Sportscar Championship when he was hit on the start line by the Porsche of Paul Whitmarsh. Justin McMillan won the title despite not having a great weekend himself.

A few cars paid the price for taking on the pit wall over the weekend.

I'm shocked, stunned, dumbfounded, aghast, flabberghasted at Whitmarsh.

This whole weekend he was like some crazed loon.

he was weaving in pit lane to warm his tyres for one thing...

then he gave McMillan a hip, shoulder and elbow on one occasion, totally unnecessarily and causing damage..

then, what he did to Ted simply defies belief. he had clear road and ocean ahead of him at the start as Morriss's Porsche had broken down and was starting from pit lane (all the porsches had mechanical troubles this weekend ) , yet Whitmarsh drove ~3 meters to the left to ram Ted, which broke the steering and caused Ted to then hit the wall, which he wasn't far from anyway...

It was such a violent ramming that I thought his drive shaft had broken, as that might explain the lurch across the track... but no.... he went on to do 7 laps of the race.....

In the hand of officials now, but the evidence is pretty condemning.

My main theory is that he simply got a rush of adrenalin, and mistook Ted for Justin, and wanted to cement the ill feeling from THEIR earlier coming together.

it's the only thing that remotely explains what happened.

Give a very recent past CAMS event judiciary precedent in Victoria, one would assume that the fine can only begin at $10 K

I mean if a state level Saloon Car competitor can get that for overdriving during Friday media rides, just imagine what a wealthy Porsche owner will be hit with for a (seemingly) deliberate attack on a fellow competitor.....

One waits with baited breath to see just how inconsistent life is.
