and pay on the gate. I ended up doing that to most race meetings last year. I have promised myself I will be more organised this year!

Sorry about mucking up your easter weekend Craig. There will be no "Lorna's" to stay at then.

Yes, Lorna, that's the one I tried. No events are listed at all.....

Craig, come and stay with the Bluebottles and Tim and me. Tell them you are my son.

Liz, having been to the pre-launch test day at the Bishopsgate site, I can say that you will enjoy yourselves. They're a wonderful bunch and I will certainly be there again. I might even join you, if I can...

As for the proper racing, Craaaaaaaiiiiig??

I was reading in this week's Autosport that the currently under-subscribed LMP900 class will have in the region of 15 cars for the Donington round. Sounds sweet!!

Liz, it looks like Donington are revamping their site so keep a close eye. There may be details very soon.

I feel like a kid who keeps saying "ARE WE THERE YET?" I'm sure these people are getting their acts together but they could move faster for all of me.

Daniel, do come along - we will be able to plan as soon as I can find an air fare that is under four figures. Cherchez le bucket shop ...

I have got totally confused what I am going to and what I am not on that weekend now. I know it was definitely Touring Cars on the Monday and Powertour on the Sunday. What was it on the Friday and Saturday?

I'm now hearing that Donnington is in doubt due to the Foot & Mouth epidemic. Has anyone else heard this? is it likely to happen?

We can only hope not; I mean Silverstone's right in the middle of an infected area and it's still holding events as normal at the moment. Mind you, a major meeting might change all that...

As for Snetterton's PowerTour round in between the other two: I know it's a long way, but this is looking - as a package - better than the ToCA Tour. Can we afford to miss it?

Liz, *everything* is in doubt due to F&M. However, having seen the pathetic measures they put in place at Silverstone yesterday, I now have no doubt that things will go ahead, barring a major escalation in the spread of this thing. The MSA apparently decided against the all out ban on motorsport which had been mooted, and the fact that horse racing is once again taking place leads me to believe that we'll be OK... even if we have to drive over a tiny disinfectant mat like we did yesterday... like that's gonna do sod all!

I have emailed someone at Donington and will let you know what the response is. Unfortunately, I forsee that Donington will neither confirm or deny until they have something set in stone. Like the rest of the country, how long is a piece of string?

So far I don't think there's been any cases too near to Donington, so fingers crossed.
It was a bit worrying to leave Silverstone and pass signs on the road saying "Foot and Mouth Infected Area" - the car had a very good wash as soon as possible!

There is F&M case near Bicester and one in Little Horwood (I believe) in my area so the signs are obviously going up all around the countryside.

Reply from Donington spokes person:

"Race meetings at Donington Park are going ahead as scheduled"

Short but sweet.

Where does this leave us now in terms of Sunday. One of the reasons I was having second thoughts about Snett was that I was expecting ALMS to be an evening race (like Silverstone last year). Instead it looks like an early start to the day. Think I'll pass on Fri as well.

Craig and I will be camping Saturday night at Donington. We resigned to the fact that we would be camping at Donington on Saturday night because of the late finish and then travel to Snet in the morning. Then travel to Brands straight afterwards (no doubt pub lunch would fit in there somewhere ) and then camp at Brands on the Sunday night, ready for BTC on the Monday.

(I had no intention of going anywhere Good Friday)

Sound good to you?
