The quality and quantity of the grid is good.
Will be interesting to see how the racing is.

Mark Miller raced for VW in Dakar rally but I assume it's not the same Mark Miller.

No it's not the same Mark Miller this one apparently used to race sportscars.

I'm a little bit surprised by Mattias Anderssons lack of pace so far.

Haha, yes, when you Google Mark Miller all I could find was the american Dakar driver! I'm also surprised by Andersson's lack of pace.

Pretty decent race with a pretty close finish considering the somewhat slow, start/stop nature of the Gellerasen track.

How was the racing? My worry is these faster cars aren't really suited to the Swedish tracks.

I think you are right with that, not a lot of overtaking, pretty static. Close and good racing anyway, with Ekblom being the most impressive in the feild.

Anderstorp in 3 weeks should alot better, faster track and should provide better racing.

With Anderstorp beeing a faster more flowing cirquit i donot think there will be mush overtaking , maybe at the end of the airportstrip after some slipstreaming.

Just a long string of cars............

I agree... Even the S2000 cars look a bit big on those tracks.

Alx Danielsson is going to take part in the TTA - Racing Elite League race at Anderstorp, driving a Citroën C5 TTA for Brovallen Design.

It's great that Alx is focusing on his racing again. Will be interesting to see how quickly he can come up to speed.

I found it interesting that in the Brovallen press release they say that the plan is for him to get an extra test next Thursday.

"Han har aldrig tidigare kört en TTA-bil men planen är att han ska fĂ¥ en extra testdag nästa torsdag."

I thought testing was strictly limited to official test days?

You can probably get some extra time for new drivers. I think Mark Miller got some laps in at Karlskoga before the official sessions as well.

The track layout for the new circuit in Tierp:
http://ttagroup.se/2012/05/25/tierp-...r-new-circuit/

I think that there's plans to develope the track further in the the future but for a semi-permanent circuit I think it looks pretty good! Decently fast, probably a few overtaking spots and I the stadium section hopefully provides a good atmosphere.

For those of you who don't know Tierp Arena is a new dragstrip.

Around 5000 paying spectators both at GellerĂ¥sen and Anderstorp. I expect it to be better both at Gothenburg and Falkenberg, both should be 10k+ atleast and also hopefully good racing-wise.

Its really alla about getting good PR value this year, get the organisation together and get bigger feilds for next year, with that the spectators will come.

I think they need to change the racing format. Only one 'sprint' race per weekend isn't right way.

I guess it all comes down to TV-contracts. If they only get the TV-time for one 40 minute race, there is no point in staging another one (for a professional series).

And then, all the races are on Saturday and they try to have two-day-weekends. With the support series that are along for many races, that really doesn't give them too much time for another race anyway.

Gothenburg does however have less support races - if they could figure out the TV thing they probably could have a different format there - maybe two heat races with 8 cars each and a distance of only half a dozen or so laps instead of traditional qualifying and then the feature 40 minutes race.

I'd also love to see them have an enduro eventually... 500 kilometers at Anderstorp under the midnight sun or something. (They'd need more than 16 cars for that, of course)

Well, it seems that TTA has Swedish GT Series and Porsche GT3 Cup as support classes, so why not thow them to the field?

I think - in this case - that would take away from the spectacle. If this ever came to be it should imho be modelled after the Aussie V8s Bathurst-race: 25 TTA-cars with a mix of Swedish drivers and international stars, would be quite mouthwatering proposition, I think.

There's no midnight sun at Anderstorp (or at any other major Swedish racing circuit – they are all way too south). They should travel to Mo i Rana or at least Kemora for that.
