StockHatch782 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Congratulations to Mad Mark on winning the Rallycross Masters, but can anyone tell me why he ran on Avons when he's under contract to Silverstone tyres? Just curious as to how it works.

Is it because Rallycross Masters is a non-championship event so the contract doesn't apply, or something else? Thanks.

Aren't Silverstone a sponsor of the Open Championship? As far as I understand it the procars run on a silverstone control tyre and all classes carry Silvertone sponsorship stickers although actual tyre choice is free.

Can someone please explain why the organisers put their sponsership banners so high on the safety fence, the banners could be lowered so spectators can see over them, even lowered the banners wouls still be higher than the safety barrier/tyre wall so all banners would still be seen....!

Thanks for that, Bert, that makes sense, but isn't Mad Mark actually sponsored by Silverstone? That was what I found confusing.

So, any more reaction or news from the event?

Sorry to hear about your Seat, Jukesy, fingers crossed you get something sorted and are out later in the year. Good luck to MB Motorsport getting everything back together.

Ash Simpson must have been going well in his 1600 stock hatch to come up second against the 2 litres, he must be dead chuffed with that.

Also well pleased for Mike Manning, he usually goes well at Croft and it's good to see the car kept going strongly for the whole meeting.

And Ben Power, he must be the favourite for the Supernational title this year in the Open, although Tapscott could also clinch it. Power must also be in with a good shout in the British Supermodified this year. What do you reckon?

Any other interest/incidents to report?

Firstly thanks for congratulations good start to year!! and i thoroughly enjoyed event and racing i hope we can build on it first time i have been tow croft in 1o years and not had an accident!!!

To clear up I have an "agreement" with Silverstone whereby i was asked to run on their tyres being the Open Champion. This was my first event on the rubber with no testing we played with tyre pressures etc. and teh cold weather didnt help. We gathered data all day for Silverstone to work with and develop the tyres. I decided to run on the Avons for the last race so we could use as a comparison. This race being not part of the Championship. Tony did the exact same thing so all comparisons could be made.

I hope this explains.

first ever rallycross

March the 2nd at Croft was my first ever Rallycross event
i entered in Revivals A in my little Audi Coupe so you can imagine my
supprise when i was told at drivers meeting i would be out with the
division 1 super cars
i enjoyed every minute of it, i have to say a big thank you to the lads from
Cramlington District Motor Club for pitting for John Mooney and myself on the
day.
John had a fantastic day but shame about the fuel problem in the finals
his black Astra is just getting better and better as john is still developing the car.
A BIG THANKS TO TYNESIDE ROOFING OUR TEAM SPONSOR FOR ALL THEIR SUPPORT
so thats why the little black Audi was Chasing every body around the track
in the super cars division1 because its only 2.2 180bhp standard road car with cage in it and a rookie behind the wheel.

DM out

Well I for one enjoyed Sunday (apart from that wind) plenty of action and plenty of close racing, the battles between Matt Thompson and Conor Flynn were great, looking forward to the next round now

A couple of photos from the day

some more on the website

Cheers

Whose Focus is Eddie Kinirons?

Looks like an old John Cross motor?

Well it's not John Cross old car - that was converted to a circuit racer (V8 rwd ) and the shell is currently up for sale.

Possibly Jos Kuypers old car?

Its definitely Koutnys car although its been revised quite a bit since as it wasnt like that in Czech when Eddie was buying it

The car was oringally built for Jan Arthur Iverson and is one of the few other cars which has the MSR 4 speed box
