Michael Webster should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
British Vita Racing - Littleborough

Just came across this great image of BVRT's workshop taken in 1972. I understand they were doing a lot of work with Ford Motor Company at the time which this picture seems to support.

Anyone know anything about the Capri?

Only thing I can say is my father was on one of his many visits to them and they asked him to take a capri out for a spin and see what he thought, I remember he told me of the shock on a jaguar owners face as he overtook him at great speed ! maybe it was the same car.no details im afraid sorry GW

Good image!

That Capri looks like an RS2600?

Could it be a Birrell car?

Yes, nice pic for blue oval fans! Thanks.

Looks like the Capri is on Injection, so could be an RS2600. Arches different to normal Gp2 though?

Not quite sure about the basis but engine looks like a Weslake. Cant imagine that on an open road…
Probably the boat is a ZDrive powered type not a jet one. Really nice pic thanks!

I have fond memories of watching Jeff Goodliff's BVRT Minisprint (fuel injected and was it supercharged too ?)and , latterly , an Elan as a start line marshal at Harewood . The Elan was quick , if undramatic but drama not in short supply with the Minisprint which was a hell of a spectacle .

I think the motor looks very similar to the one in Roger Clarks rallycross car. If it is (was) it will be an Essex V6 with Len Bailey heads and Lucas fuel injection. We have a Vita Capri here which was developed for circuit racing then rallycross and rallying. Is it possible the car in the image is the one we have here?

Would anyone know how many Capris were made by BVRT?

Very interesting suggestion Michael, many thanks.

I hadn't considered it an off track weapon because of the profile of the shell?

Would be great to see some pics. Michael

Arches look like Escort ones, interesting little boot spoiler.

Mentions a powerboat with a turbo'd, injected Essex V6 here - mountgreen.co.uk (can only view cached site with no pics)....

Hi Sarnie, my old out of date web browser makes it difficult for me to upload images, however I have a FB account where you can find some?

I have seen the mountgreen site - very interesting and even some info about the Vita 6 conversion!

Does anyone have any info on Tom Belso and/or the MK1 Ford Escorts raced by British Vita? I have been told they prepared several including FTW47H
Thanks
