Ferrari 655 to have unusual rear wing
Todt is claiming that the rear wing on the new car (to be called the 655?) will be "very nice" and may "be surprising" to some. The story (in Italian):

I read it; all I can say is that Todt's announcement is bound to spice the wait up!
After FW26's walrus nose, if also ferrari put on the track something unexpected, well, we could remeber this silly season as one of the most "creative" ever, or, at least, in years. |

Or it could just be to take some publicity away from Williams ang get people talking about the cars (am I really this cynical?).

No problem, Wrex, everybody knows you are..
From what I could see since he's at Ferrari, it's not in JT's style to launch proclamations in order to attract he world media attention. BTW, Ferrari has always had it, without any need of such announces... |

I'm glad to see some design innovations, that may actually be noticable, and prominent. For the last couple of years, the design changes have been so subtle as to hardly be noticed.
Maybe they'll go back to the delta wing style of the old March F1 cars, at least I think it was the March, but whoever, it was a very cool look! |

Maybe is will incorporate a big fan to help give massive downforce.
Oh no, someone's already tried that. I wonder who that was?..... |

That was Gordon Murray, and the infamous Brabham BT46 fan car, from, I think, 1977. Niki Lauda won the Swedish GP of 1978 in the car. It was banned soon after, I believe.

Perhaps it will be some sort of interesting double wing arrangement, or maybe something moulded in one piece.
Anyway, it's about time some interesting new steps are taken by the teams. |

"Bella ala anteriore"
this mean the beautiful anterior wing anterior is frontal hence a new Beautiful FRONt wing not rear or Posteriore- posterior so what do the regs say about the fornt wing??what does ferrari want to say about it? |

Beautiful front wing ,eh? Can't say there's that much scope to make a beautiful front wing, but there you go.

a little translation - best I can get from same source.
Of the Ferrari new the only thing that that admits is there will be a "beautiful front wing, could be one surprised". On rubbers there is confidence in the Bridgestone, although the first tests seem to tell of a new Michelin progress: "They are Japanese - Todt beats again -, work with method and rigor. The only thing that we do not have to make is to enter in the panic. Not there is some reason, I say it clearly, are convinced that we will make great contests ". |

Whats wrong with a "radical" rear wing, everyone elses cars are being "radical" this season.
A "very nice" rear wing doesn't sound very fast. |

Armco, the whole thing is the rear wings are under strict rules this season. larger endplates and two elements.
and the fact that the article talks about a new "beautiful" front wing. that is what the big deal is about. |

Possibly using tusks? I remember Todt or Ferrari members mentioned possibly going down that route.
But on the other hand, Ferrari would have seen the Williams at the same time we did, so if they were to copy it, i would think it would be too late. Especially if they were going to twin keel. ...unless Ferrari had already thought of it. |

Its Ferrari and I can't see something all that radical coming out of them, the team is always about development rather than an innovative leap in years of late
