Scorchess has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
That's cool, Joest is a good team. Let's hope Mazda USA can provide some actual support this time.

Mazda will not be competing in the final three P races of this year. Focusing entirely on 2018.

Well Mr. Dagys certainly did not discount the possibility of a privateer GTLM team in the podcast this week on S365.

Also there will be Porsche factory drivers available if the LMP1 research and development program folds.

Also seems that the Audi/VAG DPI rumors are fruitless now that Joest decided to go with Mazda.

Also considering that they're skipping the last three races of the year, could Mazda also be switching chassis suppliers, as we all know about the problems that the Riley has had?

Maybe Joest will be working with Riley to have the best use of the upgrade opportunity each LMP2 manufacturer has.

YEAH!!!!

I'd keep Nunez and Pigot for drivers, they have speed and youth. Pitstops will be vastly improved and maybe the chassis as well with Multimatic taking the lead. Its all down to whether or not AER can deliver the goods.

I'm halfway wondering if speedsource doesn't see need to continue racing with them out next year.

Riley and Multimatic have split and Multimatic are fully taking over development of the RT24-P

A good reason to pull out of the rest of the season is that would give some time to fix that "worst chassis" part.

This also means that if Audi Sport or another VAG company want to do DPI or LMP1, it will probably be largely in house.

Also doesn't answer the claim that Atherton made that there's one more DPI manufacturer coming in. Replacing SpeedSource with Joest doesn't exactly grow the field. But then again, Atherton could've been weaving a red herring.

The article also stated this, "...Multimatic (which parted ways with Riley Technologies on the DPi/WEC P2 program)."

Unless I missed something, I was under the impression that the project was being "reorganized" with Multimatic taking the lead. I have not heard of an official split until that line above.

Sort of implied with Multimatic took over management of the program so they can have a bigger say on R&D. Also probably why they partnered with Joest.
