Hi Si,

welcome to the fold. As you've no doubt discovered, there is no better way for a motorsport nut to spend their weekends.

Rescue ... good choice.

Doing both disciplines or more....even better.

Track/incident, flagging and Rescue, I love doing them all. Different days and different ways to enjoy a days racing.

But most of all, have fun!

p.s. and I should say, if you enjoyed your rally experience, then you've even more opportunities. Most importantly, if you have a question, ask away.

Red-that's the plan to be open minded, and just enjoy it! I sit in an office 9-5 and the rest day to day so it's great to getout and smell the hot engines and burning rubber!!

That is exactly it Si, take your time to do what is right for you and enjoy.

Wherever you go to get involved, you'll come away from your visit with new friends and new skills/knowledge and hopefully a little more experience.

Keep asking those questions though, they are priceless. You will see it said many times on here; "There is no such thing as a stupid question". So very true.

Elliot.

Welcome aboard Si! Seems like you've caught the marshalling bug already. I have to say it's changed my life-I did my first meeting 2 years ago and I'm now gearing up for my first British GP. Plus it made me rethink my career and after 23 years stuck in factories, I started a job as an ambulance driver/trainee technician 2 months ago, something I would never have thought about if not for my marshalling experiences. Hope to see you on the bank sometime

Agreed that there are no stupid questions...........but there are an awful lot of stupid answers! I should know, I am as guilty of giving them as anybody else. I'm glad you enjoyed the taster day, anybody else out there who came into marshalling through a taster day?

Cadwell Park is not too far from you Dendle, great place to marshal, lots of friendly folk and an absolutely brill alternative weekend meeting to the GP when 750MC visit us this year.

We also have the one British Grand Prix this year that you CAN marshal as a new member of the clan - that being the British Superkart Grand Prix on 17/18 July.

If interested just PM me.

In the meantime. welcome and enjoy!

That would include me. I never knew I could join the orange army until I read an article on the Brawn website. One phone call, a taster day at the last Donington meeting and I'm hooked! Mostly at Oulton Park, since the demise of Donington, but I've done a sprint and a rally along the way with a bit of training for both rally and circuit.

So welcome, dendle, I hope you meet as many great new friends and have as much (serious) fun as I have. Your life will never be the same again

Only just got around to catching up with threads - hope you enjoyed Sunday, almost got wet didn't we?

You'll also have noticed why we need more new recruits - not exactly crowded!

I'm back at Curborough on F1GP Sunday - bet we get more waves and driver chats than all the marshals at Silverstone! Sad fact is that the folk who appreciate us most are those at the grass roots who struggle for the cash to run their cars as much as we do to marshal for them.

I must admit i enjoyed the sprint - really good to see such a wide range of cars from the ones you know would be driven to work the next day, to all out track day cars.

If you do the BARC sprint at Curborough on the 7th August, come & say hello. I met my partner through racing, I converted him to orange & he has started me off sprinting!!! Big blue Jag, can't miss it!!!
