Portugal race weekend thread

So, practice day was mostly wet.

France, Brazil and Portugal consistently fast though.

The weather forecast suggests it's going to be wet again today for qualifying, which should make it very interesting, but better tomorrow for the races.

Davison was driving it yesterday; but skipping one of the sessions on Friday due to concerns about the weather may not have helped the team with setting up the car.

What happened to France and Switzerland? The live timing is very haphazard. Cars disappear for several minutes, then re-appear having completed several laps in the meantime.

It was yet again a wet track, which cleared towards the end. France didn't go out later so they had a worse time for just running on the wet...

Even so I am guessing that Enge was one new tyres for his run. We'll find out later!

Was Enge's 1:32 set on a damp track or had it dried by then? On that subject, how efficiently do these cars shift the water in the wet? Do the big rears help at all?

Mr Jinxx should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
In the first rather wet official test session yesterday, the top time was 1'33.0, and in the second, really wet, session, the best time was 1'52.0 . If, as Garson suggests, it was wet then drying, that would explain the difference. Everyone's fastest lap was basically their last.

Why dose the live timing for A1GP qualifying never work. This is what happened for the last 2 races.

Mabs - they're not on the circuit yet.

Do you actually know the qualifying format?

Yes. I think Portugal is about 7 hours behind WA so it should have started.

It has started now.

There are 4 sessions of 15 minutes, with a 10 minute gap between each.
