I love this category and it seems to be going from strength to strength, hope you get another good turnout.
I'd consider going to watch but I'll be heading down there two weeks later to race in the 1 hour Prodsports race. |

Pity Godzilla was a no show, i was hoping to show my girlfriend the car in person.
The driver/team combination behind the starion seem to be doing a good job. It was performing very well from my perspective, though im unaware of how it performed during its original racing career. Nice to see a couple of cars, but i have to admit it is very stale racing when only a few of the drivers have the money, intention and ability to put the cars through their paces. This is just a observation of the nature of the category and not a go at the drivers in anyway. In the end its better seeing the cars still on the track then sitting in sheds which other owners are happy for them to do. |

Interesting issue, would it be age related? I have to say myself and alot of other people are appreciative that the time and money is spent to keep that car on the track, it cant be cheap or easy with that particular car. Quick question, what state of parity is the car run to these days. Do the group a/c historic rules allow you to pick any year or does it have to run as it was bathurst 92?. |

You can't mix and match. e.g. you can't run the '92 paintjob with the '91 engine and the '90 wheels & brakes etc. |

We get to pick a year....The car has a COD specifying the 1991 Sandown 500 round....that way we are not as restricted with the 1992 rules. Not that we will be running it at quite the same boost or level of commitment.....not having the sponsorship that they had in the day tend's to make you rethink how hard you want to go. |

Thanks for the replies jet and dave.
Good to hear you can pick the year, gives the cars a better chance to shine in their best trim. |

Yep and the Starion has a 1992 C of D, which allowed it to run 17 inch wheels and a few other freedoms, which is also why it doesnt have the Xerox sponsorship on it..
Craig recently gave the car a bit of a freshen up, and is getting the suspension sorted out too, and it is enjoying some much needed reliability, it's all coming together for him now |
