GP2 ASIA - Rounds 5&6 Sakhir
got some more TV news and the 2nd race at Bahrain is also live at 10.00am GMT UK and i think you do not have to wait for snowboard to finish as those guys are in Canada (the reason why we missed the start and the safety car last time out)

Is Zaugg in Clos out at Trident the only change we're going to see for this weekend's race? Any other possible changes or is the rest of the grid set?

On the 11th hour, Max Chilton has returned to Barwa Addax replacing Van der Garde, and Yelmer Buurman made his return to the series with Ocean, who raced for the same team during the 2008-09 Asia season.
Jules Bianchi made his first pole - good news for the new star of the series. |

Well don't know what to make of that race - the first of the winter season i've seen for various reasons!
Valsecchi seemingly just sat about eyeing hsi prey for most of the race and had loads in hand? Filippi and Villa (what are they still doing tooling around at this level) must be sick as a parrots having led before and after the stops for so long only to cave in near the end? He did very well to repel Ricci at the line though I have to admit. What annoys me is that id anyone was watching this series for the first time they would think that Valsecchi, Villa and Filippi (and Ricci!!!!) are better drivers than Parente, Perez, Turvey and the ART boys based on their respective results. This patently isn't the case, but clearly some teams have much more car (and tyre) friendly set ups than others? |

For me is no surprise that Valsecchi clinched GP2 Asia title today - He was frontrunner in all 5 races (up to today) while the rest didn't manage to do so.

Valsecchi is a better driver than Parente, Perez, Turvey and the ART boys at the moment. I can't see how anyone can doubt his ability, his turn of pace, especially at the end of races, his overtaking, everything has been mega. Experience hasn't even been the issue either, Abu Dhabi was a completely new track to everyone. Lets not forget iSport haven't looked convincing in Asia since the series started even with Senna so the car can't be the whole reason Valsecchi has been so good. I just think he has found the right team for him and iSport have found the right drivers for them with Valsecchi and Turvey. The main series will be the real test, so we'll have to see if it translates. I have been so impressed with Valsecchi though that I would say, even if Parente was his team mate at iSport I don't know if Parente would beat him. We'll have to wait and see whats happens in the pre season tests in the next months. I imagine it will be more competitive though, it always is and the ART's will be strong as usual. |

Given that Freddie has now won the title, does that mean we're going to get a rendition of We Are the Champions?
