Well, it's going to be interesting to see if the Polos have worked out the starting issue. If they have, I think they will do really well.

I think it's great that picking winners is so hard this season. There are plenty of strong candidates

Solberg told Norwegian media that they had tried starting 15 times during testing without issue after Spain. It will have to work though anyways, that straight is so long!

Excuse the double post but the Peugeot's has an updated wing. Never seen anything like it.

The EKS cars have got new aero bits on them as well - starting to get a bit daft, updates for every meeting? Certainly a way to spend money quickly....

Yes, it really is. I wonder if rallycross will come closer to WRC, it is freedom really when it comes to regulation.

The wing on Ekström's car is from an earlier season though I think. The EKS cars differ from each other also. Notice the wing in the back for example.

One line all round, seems IMG do like an April holiday just like the old ERC lot did.

Local council must be flush is all I can think!!

Pretty fantastic start to for the Polos; 1-2 in Q1!

1. Kristofferson
2. Solberg
3. Loeb!

Shaping up for a great race!

Also, Oliver Solberg just won Semi 1 in RallyX Nordic in last year's DS3. Pretty decent for a 15 year-old

I can't understand how a driver like Bakkerud forget to take his jokerlap...

I think the track is among the better ones in the series now at least. It is weird though that this extension came just as another track in Portugal has been built, and it looks quite special judging from this photo.

Unlucky end to the weekend for Petter, it looked like he held Johan up as well so ruined the chance of a VW win. Shame, as the Polo looked to have some serious pace.

Best driver in the final for me was Loeb. He looked so much faster than Ekstrom on the last lap!

I think Ekström just kept it tight though in the last lap. During that last "overtaking corner" I thought Loeb was going to make a push through but he didn't, class driving! I bet Hansen would've gone for it.

But yeah the Polo's were unlucky. Dominated the weekend really. Solberg drove quite hard though on the gravel and being so thick it unfortunately cost him a tire and a potential win for Kristoffersson.

Nice to see the S1600 for once. So tight and even that it's almost unbelievable.

Does anyone know why Timmy Hansen has a 10 point deduction from this weekend?

I heard talk of Petter having a slow puncture in the finals. But I wonder if maybe this was just a little bit of lost composure by Solberg. Dominating the quals both days, crushed the semis (on speed at least), Oliver's debut on the podium - perhaps the will to win was a little too intense in the finals. Seemed to be over driving the car at times.

The Polos have great speed, but I thought it was great to see Peugeot more competitive - and what a drive by Bakkerud in the semi! This season is getting better and better!

Thanks crossfades, seems a basic error to use an unregistered tyre. Where did you find the information?

Looks great.
Plenty of money available in Portugal...strange the national Portugese series has not many entries and also not many in WRX/ERX.

Another grandstand constructed this year near the joker. Another one planned near the gravel section for next year.

Not as flat as you think, not like Valkenswaard or Loheac...
