Zero Point is precisely what Max deserved today.
-Fumbling the start so bad that two car passes you fair and square on F1's shortest straight - CHECK -Doing the worst and trying to get back at them with a desperate, clumsy revenge move into the first Corner - CHECK -Ruin 3 drivers' race (including yours) - CHECK -Watch how the other two, whom races you ruined, pull a P6 and P9 with Level-headed recovery drives - CHECK -Score Zero Point with your facepalm-worthy sh1tshow of a Performance but have your home fans still praise and defend you - CHECK |

Another win for the Honey Badger today. In this fight - not an actual race win.
Looks interesting now - Max was a bit too rash today with some of the things he did. I think the first corner tangle was more Vettel's thought, but Max's little swerves on Kimi weren't good. |

If you think that's strong, you haven't heard Niki Lauda's view on RTL's highlights
Lauda was surprised he wasn't punished for his actions on Raikkonnen, called his driving unfair ("for the second time, after he already did that in Hungary"), thinks the other drivers should talk to him, and when shown an interview with Verstappen where Max was questioned about the Raikkonen incidents and denied any wrongdoing, finally called him arrogant and ready for psychiatry (-- is that a correct word in English, or should I say "ready for a visit to the shrinks) |

I thought Max was dangerous in this race. He made contact with maybe 3-4 cars and seems to be trying his best to cause a massive accident.

As mentioned in the driver of the race thread -
That's the worry. Horner isn't going to tell him off - as Marko / Verstappen Snr will be encouraging this extreme aggression. For me, in any formula if a driver is moving in the braking zone - matching and blocking deliberately the overtaking cars move - and out of spite for a earlier clumsy move which Max could have been brighter on, is insanely dangerous. He's quick, no doubt - truly a mega mega talent, that was clear from his karting days, but his racing moves if carried out by Grosjean a few years ago, would have been jumped on. Someone needs to grow some balls and have a chat with him. Make him listen. Arm round the shoulder or something more...direct. But, they won't, so it will take something to happen on track for him to maybe change. |

The question is: would he listen?
When confronted with critics from Massa, Button, Raikkonen, Perez, Grosjean: he just ignored it all and said "it was just their problem if they had issues with him or his driving". The only ones he would probably listen to are his father, Helmut Marko or Christian Horner, but like you, I can't see anyone of those telling him he's been silly/naughty/whatever. Would he listen to someone like Lauda, or would he just ignore him as well? |

it was the 'out of spite' part that really put me off. it really seemed like he blamed Kimi for the first corner (which we got a glimpse of during the red flag period where Horner unsuccessfully tried to tell him it really wasnt Kimi) and then took his revenge out on track when afforded the opportunity.
agree, if this was Grosjean or a Maldonado even, the outcry's for their head would be universal. (tin foil hat time) but in terms of the 'health of F1' perhaps a choice was made not to penalize the new golden boy. he put butts in the seats at Spa and made people a lot of money. no mean feat! |

Go Daniel ,much too good for flash in the pan MAX. Daniel's smooth approach to his driving far superior to Max's brash driving style.

Good to see hard, close, clean racing. Verstappen just couldn't quite match Ricciardo today.

Max did say he got on with the Honey Badger better than any other driver, so the respect on the podium is not surprise
