DAYTONASME should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Algarve Historic Festival Portimao 15-17/10

Has anyone had confirmation of entry acceptance and the "base" hotel for this event?

Thanks Ed

Ed, who are you racing with- Legends, Masters? The latter confirmed my entries when originally sent in, but not sure about other organisers.

There is talk of accommodation incentive for entrants but still waiting! In meantime booked same hotel as last year assuming would be as last year for getting 'incentive'. In meantime happy to pm names of the 2 hotels listed last year if any help.

I am fortunate in the question of accommodation is the least of rhe problems, the beach hut only 20 miles away, not making it last year through prospective entrants cancelling, and heading that way again. Now the BAA dispute sounds like a done deal could be just the excuse for **** it going anyway.

Any news on entries? Am going to support Vernon Williamson in the Formula Junior races and would like to know what else to look forward to seeing. Last year's event was my first experience of Historic racing as I usually follow speed hillclimbing but now find myself being drawn to the dark side!

Hi Billy, I understand most grids are full so sure there will be plenty of interest! Is Malcom bringing the B16 again?

We are same hotel as last year and racing in Touring 70s and GD. Come and find us in the paddock!

There is a Pre War Sports Car race organised by Legends.

At long last.

Any of you have these old bags of bolts please come and join in.

Must be able to get at least 25+.

As long it is as original doesn't need HTP's or any of that stuff.

All those Astons are out there somewhere

We are on holiday just down the road in Lagos. We are regular visitors to the area and have picked this time to take in the Historic Festival.

Hope to find some of you this time, we tried at the Le Mans Classic but failed miserably. It won't be as busy this time or as hot although the Algarve did have a bit of a heat wave last October.

Praying for rainy days (for the Mini), and balmy nights (for the eating of the fish).
Mind you, I've probably had enough rain after Spa..

Scraped the pennies together and taking the bentley blower and Aston for Stirling moss for final season end flourish. Know I am not likely to provide serious opposition for your stable of superfasts but should be fun

Alexander Davidis and his crew, who produced the GT RACER TV series are coming to shoot a GT-R special on the Algarve Historic Festival, October 14th-17th.

This time they are raising the budget privately and so Alexander let me know that anybody who is interested in being involved (i.e. would like to be featured in the special in return for a contribution of costs) should contact him.

They will be using new camera technology and are supported by Nikon who will supply equipment. He will be able to give you more details and can be reached at info@johngaltfilms.com

A weekend of sunshine and historic motorsport, rather than depressing autumn and golf!!!

A couple of snaps from last year with Mr Wills looking popular....

Not many paddocks with an integral outdoor pool!! (Monza has one?)

Probably just as well with all the revellers at last year's superb Friday eve barbecue!

Some of the British 'tin tops' adding colour to the Touring / Proto 70s races.

Can't wait to get back there!

Hmm.

It's the See Red meeting at Donington this weekend and whilst yesterday seemed a reasonable sort of day for the time of year, today it has been chucking it down frequently at levels that could easily compete with Spa.

I can hear the brave souls battling round and I thought whoever (and whatever) was doing demo runs earlier was very brave. Sounded wonderful though.

I would image that anyone running round the paddock touting a trip to the sun might get a few takers.
