Buy them at the ticket booth at entrance to top of mountain.Cannot pre purchase.
The Saturday afternoon crush will be much better this year as 12 Hour qualifying is not on straight after lunch which caused the traffic jams in the last few years.Dont try to buy passes and tickets Sunday morning and still hope to get to top for start of race.

Does the shuttle bus up the top cost money to catch?

Or do we expect people to walk up to the top of the mountain because "Access to the top of the mountain is included with your normal entry"

It's just another way of the Supercars Events 12hr being better in 2017 than it was in 2015 though...

whats wrong with walking, hitching, riding a bike. At just about every other circuit if you want to go to another part of the track you walk. Maybe Bathurst 12 hour fans are too posh to walk

Nothing to do with supercar events, all to do with camping at the top which was brought in by the previous promoter.
Massive camping up there this year, more camping open and Tent city is also up there

N24 has a great shuttle bus to alot of points around the track - Adenau is great being right in town

I'm sure they'd find a way to charge you to ride a bike up there, anything to make a few extra bob

I'm guessing you think a Nurburgring 24hr fan is too posh if they don't want to walk from the pits to Breidscheid too....

You didn't have to pay to drive up there in the 24hr days, and there was camping up the top.

Ha Ha. Nothing like quoting a failed event to support your case.

What difference does the success of the event make?

Well why did it stop?

but really so what, different race, things were different in the past, you used to be able to camp for free at bathurst, but time has moved on. to even compare is a ridiculous concept. Its $10 to take your car up, as many times as you want with as many people as you want for the whole weekend. time for some people to get over their issues with supercars (heck the issues they have arent even there anymore).

Great race coming up, biggest field we have had for the 12 hour using Gt3s (I had to be specific so as to stop the constant arguers) awesome range of cars, possibly see a lap record. should be awesome

The issues I have are certainly still there, and as with last year i'll invoke my personal protest of not paying to attend anything these clowns have anything to do with

Race will go on, no one remotely cares about your so called "issues" because they are petty

in fact you shouldn't watch either because by you watching you encourage the media company (ch 7) to fund next years event. Stand up for what you believe

maybe even stop talking about it on line, that just encourages more interest and more support for the promoter

The issue last year with the introduction of the mountain access passes was that it wasn't communicated to the events customers. The first People knew about it was when they were stopped at the gate.

Not ideal. Hopefully this has changed this year

Well I guess it has changed this year as it is on the B12 website under ticketing. $5 for a 1 day car pass; $10 for a 3 day pass. Also, $5 for to catch the bus, but it doesn't make it clear whether that is $5 per return trip, or $5 per day/weekend.

No opportunity to buy the pass on-line, I guess that comes down to it being a windscreen sticker and not a printed ticket. Will buy my 3 day pass up the top on Friday.

Will add that it was on the 12 hour site last year, just most people dont read the details and it was mentioned in this forum as well. at least regulars will know this year which will be a change

more info on the shuttle bus here Getting to the event

We will also operate continual Shuttle Services from Harris Park at bottom of Mountain to Reid Park at the top of Mountain each day- return tickets available from Ticket Booth at bottom of Mountain in Merchandise area.

Agreed, will do the same. Hopefully everyone can do the same to avoid the traffic jams at the check point on access road to the top of the mountain

As we edge closer to the race, I have been working my way through some of the highlights of the event. The first of many to be shared here, I will start with 2014 Bathurst 12 Hour - Shane Van Gisbergen vs Bernd Schneider & Mika Salo - Epic Battle

Seeing a LaFerrari cut some demo laps should be interesting. Shame that there are just as many LaFerraris at Bathurst as there are 488 GT3s actually racing...
