Round 1 will be held this weekend at Memphis International Raceway.

Schedule:

Fri 4:10 PM: Qualifying
Fri 5:25 PM: Round 1 Heats
Sat 12:45 PM: Round 2 Heats
Sat 1:55 PM: Round 3 Heats
Sat 3:00 PM: Semifinals
Sat 4:40 PM: Final

Supercar finals will air on NBC on Sunday at 1:00 PM, and on NBCSN on Wednesday at 12:00 AM.

Miki Weckstrom rallycross career has so far frozen. The reason is GRC/FIAWorldRX supercar teams price tags.

Unfortunately you need a father within the sport, a rich family or to be very good at getting sponsors in order to keep going.

But that's the case in most forms of motorsport.
Exception is endurance racing where talented drivers get a seat alongside wealthy drivers.

Yeah but it is extremely noticeable in rallycross, its not like other top motorsports really. For example how many teams are there in motorsports like OMSE and Hansen?

PG Andersson even gave up his seat in Argentina for Bryntesson so he could get a chance, saying pretty much that it is a father-son sport.

Rallycross is maybe different because costs skyrocketed in only 2 or 3 years time where other series have a much longer history.

Well, each entry in the Andros Trophy has a pro and an amateur. They do separate races, so they don't get confused.

Perhaps GRX or WRX could do the same.

Have to give a bit of credit where due. The Main Final in Louisville was excellent to watch. The heats were awful - but when only 10 cars are entered it's hard to expect anything different. Amazes me that NBC can find enough filler - and ad breaks - to make up the time but they do.

The final however, was a great race, no stupid banger racing and Eriksson won in a Honda.

(And before Chunder says anything, yes it is still in a parking lot which sucks)
