What now for Justin Wilson?

I have to say that i'm impressed with Justin Wilson having won the F3000 title. I hoped that Antonio Pizzonia would have made a bigger impact on F3000 than he has, but he has won a race, and it is his first year.

I have actually spoken to Wilson a couple of years back at the Birmingham motor show 98', where we had a chat about Formula Palmer Audi, very nice chap, got his autograph and all, I said "your that guy off the telly, with the boost button cars", - I wasn't that into national motorsport at that point.

Isn't there something about Justin Wilson being too tall for F1?

Yes he's 6 foot 3 inches tall. Although I thought the maximum an F1 car could take was 6 foot 4, although I expect the designers are fussy now I hope I stop growing pretty soon

Q: The McLaren test will be critical – even if it doesn't lead to anything with them, if you impress it could be a huge help...

"It's important to be quick every time you're in the car. It'll be interesting. As I said, we'll just have to see what happens now."

So he's had a test then...?

Wilson flew in the test

Getting within 0.5 seonds of Alesi is phenomenal. Yesterday I was commending Kartakain for being within 3 seconds! Eddie would be mad not to hire him for next season now. Give Sato a test contract, put Wilson in the race seat, and let ALesi get the pipe and slippers out.

justin seemed to be being a bit of a chicken at the first corner, and completely leaning on the traction control around luffield, whereas alesi was much less trusting of it.

Perhaps EJ has found the British driver need to keep B&H happy for the next few years.

I think any F3000 Champion is deserving of a race-seat in F1. To win in that level of competition is an outstanding achievement, and Wilson has dominated it.

Button who??

Both in the Jag and in the Jordan Narain was 1.6 sec approx off PDLR's and Alesi's time...

In the Jordan 1min 36.008sec...and JustinWilson was 1min 37sumthn secs...

I jus hope things get clearer for Karthikeyan
