I don't thinks it's going make much difference to the teams performance, but I stand to be proved wrong.

Most of us outside of Toyota perobably will know little about Tsutomu Tomita, but it may be that he has little day-to-day racing management, and may continue the poor performance of the team so far, especially in terms of ridiculous strategies and pitstop errors.

Toyota have looked set to make a real step forward for 2005, but as Gascoyne has no direct input on the 2004 car, and a lot to learn on the management side, a transitional season is likely, probably paving the way for a real assault on victories with a topline driver alongside Da Matta for 2005.

I think this is due to Toyota's policy of not having any management who are aged 65 (?) or over. When I read about this a couple of weeks ago it said that he would stay on in an advisory role.
