NZV8S vs V8ST

Hi all,

Just wondering what your thoughts are on both series continuing. Different strategies I know but is good old kiwiana big enough for both of them?

V8ST have all the stars but NZV8s have the history. Also does anybody actually have any official idea who is building a new NZV8 and with what engine/ drive train combo.

Martin Short, Toyota, new engine and drive train package
Inky x 1 Commodore, new engine and drive train package
Nick Ross x 1 Commodore, ????
Promax x 1 Falcon, ????

Not sure if the history would be a help or a hindrance?

At the track The NorthIsland market will be hard fro NZv8s to crack alone
Down south V8ST should of struck to gain that viewer block

nope got nothing to do with the Toyota camp, or MRX, or the Mackenzies, or Inky, or TMC, etc, etc. there seems to be alot of insecurity in the ST camp.. thinking anyone that doesn't think their class is the greatest thing ever.. must either be a NZV8 team owner or a part of TMC lol

Pretty sure the history moved with all the people that formed NZV8 many moons ago.... SuperTourers has the history now..

well its the best thing in this country at the moment promax (with regards to V8 tin top racing), which probably explains why it has a significant fan-base (e.g over 20,000 people at the first event, compared with the average crowd of 1100 for the NZV8's). But i guess we'll see how it all pans out, but there is just so little information out there about the new series, which is dissapointing, but telling at the same time.

And yes there have been rumours (and nothing more concrete than that) that there is instabiity in the ST camp, but nothing is ever proven, so i treat these rumours as subjective to say the least.

Ok team, time to put our necks on the chopping board and make some predictions about the 2012-2013 NZV8 championship. Based on the little info we have from Motorsport NZ about their driver line up I would put a lazy tenner on

1st place, however drives the Toyota powered Camry

2nd place, however drives the other Toyota powered Camry

3rd Nick Ross if he gets enough testing in

4th Simon Richards if they ever tell us what their plans are. (Go Mr Promax and son)

5th, Inky (and if Bargs is racing it then he will be promoted to the top 3 in my list)

6th, “Straight line” in his high powered Merc that we all paid for.

does the Richards team have a website, facebook, twitter, youtube page, bebo, myspace, etc, etc? considering 98% of my posts on here are NZV8 related (and i don't think i've mentioned Richards before).. you'd think if i was a Richards i'd do more to promote the team online, eh?

I got that number from the media, and also the V8ST website. It was the total amount over the weekend for R1.

Also spoke to some people working on the gate on the sunday and they confirmed this number too......is that ok with you dude?

Credit me with SOME taste, PM! Heineken (or Macs) all the way, none of that weak cattle pee from down the line...

I think they just bottle the same stuff nationwide and call it Tui, Waikato, Canterbury Draught, whatever else...

And yes I know they are not all the same brewery, but that could just be a cunning ploy, like PM's attempts to hide his true identity

Read my post again Maxi, not JK DC or DH I said SR!!!!! And it's not like you are going to say yes it's me. We will have to see if SR joins this site and says he is not Promax. If I was him I would.
