Matador should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Tyre setup for Hill Climb/Sprints.

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting into hill sprints and some fast road courses. Any tips on what kind of tyres I could use?

How does dust/dirt on unprepared roads affect R compounds that were meant for relatively glass smooth track surfaces? Any particular treads should look at or will slick/semi slick patterns perform well?

Thanks in advance.

I guess it partly depends on what sort of car you're running and what the regulations allow. Also things like surface (rough tarmac, smooth tarmac, any loose sections) length of run etc will be a factor. The more info you can provide the better!

Thanks for the response! There are three areas where the events are primarily run, two of them are medium length runs up hill (about 1:40 in a well modified Primera awd turbo or Lancer GSR), smooth tarmac no loose sections. The third is flat, very quick transitions between smooth and rough tarmac with a tendency to be dirty in some sections, dust and or dirt on the edges of the tarmac for a few days after a heavy downpour. It's about a 40 sec sprint in the above mentioned cars.

I'd run an ST185, 16" wheels, looking to put down 400+ hp. I also have a DC2 Integra that I'm toying with the idea of using in the 2wd class, if not for me then my younger brother.

Any insight would be appreciated, tips for a 300 odd hp rwd setup would be useful as well.

Anymore info I can provide?
