I've seen him in GTs but just wondered if he'd done any rallycross before - it'll be a bit of a culture shock going from 2 hour+ races to 2 minute races and from little contact to a lot of door handling!

Correct, I think they confirmed it along with the announcements that were made a few weeks ago.

Where is that jump in Mettet? It doesn't look like the one off the first corner but maybe it's just the angle of the photo?

Pretty sure that's the turn one jump (same mound in the background): the photographer is panning parallel to the angle of the jump so it looks a bit different.

Fair enough. I spotted the photographer mound in the background too. I thought that the landing was part concrete for that jump but take the point that it could just be the angle/panning

The hard section started about half way down the slope last year...

...might just be the angle that shot was taken, but now you have mentioned it, you would expect to the tarmac in the corner of the picture, wouldn't you? Perhaps they have removed it? (Or they are yet to lay a fresh bit of tarmac for this year?)

Seems to be a few conflicting opinions on Facebook as to what car VW used in Mettet: some seem to think it was some sort of WRC derived test mule, others are saying it's the 2018 car.

They've got the Belgian round there soonish I think, so you'd think it would be ready by now. Maybe it will be a dirt landing this year. That should get nice and cut up!!

I think that was on yesterday. Bakkerud participated and won all three qualifying rounds. I believe he was on course for victory in the final, but then things got a bit hot...

(Picture was posted on the World RX Facebook page, but Johnny Loix took it)

...Ulrik Linnemann took the win. Just looking at the pictures posted by RX Inside and there are a few of the first turn drop:

I can't see the strip of tarmac that was there last year?

Forgive the double post, but I have just seen that Loeb, Timmy Hansen and Guerlain Chicherit have all entered the opening round of the British Championship at Silverstone.

Confirmation that Timmy Hansen is with Peugeot in 2018?

You'll need to update your list for the Gehrman and Braaten entries in ERX supercar class in VW Beetles. The first of many touring car drivers to make the switch maybe?

Good call. I was going to update to add Enzo Ide to the list a couple of days ago, but I can't see his 2018 campaign mentioned on any of the big rallycross sites? I'll add him with a question mark for now!

With all the news about MJP linking up with GRC to create a new top level spec car, i did wounder what effect this would have on their entry to this years WRX, seams might have the answer as this has just popped up:

Part of the post from Pucher on Facebook mentioned about "limited" involvement in the World Championship this year. There have already been videos of newly built MJP ("LionRX3") Supercars as well, so I guess they are making space in the garage for all those GRC cars they have to build...

Confirmation Enzo Ide, although the article is not clear if he will do full season or enter later in season. With money no problem for him I assume full season.

Perhaps he has come to his senses and decided to stick with the Fiesta instead of switching to that the godawful looking Mini.

Speaking of which I see Ollie O'Donovan will only be making select European appearances this year in order to concentrate on winning the British title.
