Yes, would be great to see a Commodore and a Starion out. As an ex-Ralliart Europe employee I have a soft spot for the latter!
Mike didn't a Starion race in Claire's 6 hours a couple of times, 2013 / 14 at a guess?

Yes, that is the car I was referring to. Can't remember the owner! Pretty sure it did a touring car race or two as well as a GpA car.

This one? This was at the 2011 Snetterton '360' race-day. Results show it qualified in the 'Wedding Breakfast' sprint race driven by Toni De Castillier but did not appear in the race results (or lap analysis) so presumably did not start?

Yup, think it was same guy entered it that had the white Jaguar Mk1. All race results archived at the w/shop.....

That is a very fast Sierra....

Bit too fast for my liking 😉

The Brancatelli car is entered in ST i see so be good if it also did TCC.

Then there's Local man Paul Linfoot?

His RS1800 wasn't exactly slow! (I see entered in TCC by current owner- usually does Peter Auto) And Mr Wright is an extremely handy peddler....

Yes. Maybe the change in regs came a bit late.

Apologies- Can't picture the Paul Linfoot car.

David- Starion was Ed Simpson! Thank You, we've got there...... Phew!

Ed Simpson, yes! Car looked quite nice but he had to run fairly low boost iirc.

Paul Linfoot has the black/luminous yellow LUI Eggenberger car that Karl Jones has been thrilled to share a couple of times? I think he has another one as well!

Paul has often urged the MRL to open up to allow the Sierra and was disappointed when M3's got the nod but not the Ford!!

Andy Kirkley would be another likely entrant but i'm taking this into specific series tertitory now rather than the Gold Cup!!!

There was a Mitsubishi Starion Ralliart running with the CTCRC in the hands on Mark Osborne a few years ago.

Admittedly, i can see now why Juniors race on Monday to allow time time to go ip from Oulton. A movr that did not sit well with the racers not doing Goodwood.

Also the Zandvoort event hurts.

In a way a shame

Junior enrty was weak last yesr for mainly the same reasons.

Ah, I can certainly picture the car now!

Rudolf, FJ small grid for several valid reasons, but as you say, an unfortunate result of a packed calendar.

Neil Philpotts was a long time Starion racer . The last post on his facebook page mentions that he was starting to prepare a new car , but that was 2014 .

Thanks for answering my Formula Junior query Rudolf . Do I remember seeing you at Thruxton circa 2004 racing an early Aston Martin GP car ?

I would likely have entered the Gemini if the FJ race had been over the weekend, as I am there with the TR5. I would also have entered if it had been a Front-engine only race (whichever day that had been - I love the Front-engine only races!).

Mind you, having been rudely assaulted in Race 1 at the Classic, the Gemini chassis needs repairing, ( i was able to enjoy Race 2 after the chaps manage to 'adjust' out the derangement - on a purely temporary basis!) so if I'd entered it for Oulton, I guess I might well have been withdrawing about now!

C'est la motorracing!

yes, that was me in the 1925 16 valve Bamford & Martin car, my early days in Historic Racing
charming car, but dog slow in comparision to Bentleys and 2 litre fake Aston Martin specials
that was when the rot had set into pre AMOC racing and it had losts its innocence

sold it in 2006

Once again thanks for your reply Rudolf . For what it's worth , I always think the most interesting cars tend to be towards the rear of historic races . It was great to see your little Aston Martin that day .

Finally , any chance of bringing one of your Formula Juniors to the Castle Combe Classic one year ? It would be great to hear a DKW engine again .

At Nurburgring I blew clutch up at the start . Must of been moaning to the boys about not racing this weekend . We had mega busy week and I was away Thursday at rolling road . Got back to work late Thursday and there is the little Lola all ready and prepped. HSCC let me in with late entry . Looking forward to tomorrow. 😀
