They won't have to do much for that though. Hopefully the second seat goes to somebody a bit faster, perhaps Niels Langeveld or one of the Bleekemolens? Or - considering Audi puts East in in Germany - even Frijns?

Disappointing guest drivers. With Frijns, Langeveld, Van Lagen there are better drivers available but it's probably money that makes the decision. |

Money and marketing yeah. A Prince is good news for the organisation, and on top of it he's the owner of the circuit

The Prince is a good media stunt. Good fame is better than a good face.

Frijns will be racing in Blancpain GT Series at Silverstone that weekend so I guess he was no option

Hyundai has to be applauded for spending money to have four really top line drivers. I don’t know if their car is blessed with favorable BoP but they certainly paid handsomely to maximize its potential. Food for thought for the others, especially Honda.

And as Daniel Nagy was a wildcard driver, his car carried 15kg extra as well.
About the BoP. The Hyundai and Honda are to strong, with the Hyundai a bit better than the Honda, but not that much, espcially seeing the Honda being much stronger at the Hungaroring than at Marrakech. Just thinking what the hell is wrong with Tom Coronel his car. There seems no speed in it all, though he was in the Chevy WTCC car also slower than Esteban Guerrieri when they had the same car. Huff and Vernay really seems the best of the rest in the VW and AUDI. If the VW Golf would be the benchmark than: - The Hyundai and Honda need to be slowed down. With the Hyundai a little bit more slowed down than the Honda. - The Audi need to get a little bit extra performance. - The Peugeot, Cupra, Alfa all need some more speed. TouringCarTimes had a nice graphic of the BOP for the first races |

Guys, Bop is in the DNA of TCR. Without Bop, TCR woukd be dead within 3 years. Without Bop, GT3 would have survived 3 years tops, but with bop it revived national and international gt championships all over the world. GTE would also be a joke without bop.
The old DTM (1986- 1992) had some sort of bop, Supertouring cars had waivers and Bop between front-, rear-, and all wheel drive... Who dislikes bop in TCR doesnt know anything about the history and the inner workings of racing with production-related race cars as touringcars or gt's. |
