AUSRSR should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Where's Aston Martin? Or running a limited ALMS program?

Aston Martin only planned to run Sebring, Long Beach, and hopefully Petit. Laguna Seca was never on their official slate. Besides, the track isn't really a good practice run for what they'll face at Le Mans. I also suspect they want to have their cars unshackled when they show up at La Sarthe, so they're giving the ACO as few opportunities as possible to see that they maybe could use some reining in.

re spotter's guide

Andy, please note that there is something on the 80 and 81 GTC cars that the spotter's guide does not show -- I can't remember which, but one of them has the driver's side A pillar painted neon orange and the other has the A pillar painted green (I think it's 80 that's orange but don't quote me). Doesn't help much on driver's right but good if you're seeing the cars head-on.

Cheers from chilly but sunny Laguna!

Why was the Highcroft HPD sent to the back of the grid? I couldn't really make out anything from what the provisional grid sheet said. What does it actually mean by "the car wasn't qualified"? Failed post-quali scrutineering?

I'm not sure about others thoughts, but the "standard" BP is probably not the best livery they could be running now. I'd stick with the Arca artwork for a few months at least.

So I doubt IMSA will add restrictions to the Mazda.
i agree totally. i don't know how IMSA works weight/engine restrictions, but why can't they make the others faster?

really looking forward to this evening; 6 hours of good stuff from my favorite west coast track.

they have used the ARCO livery for the Cali races before. It will be interesting to see what they do for rest of year. Play up the Castrol sponsor maybe?

Yesw, still baffled by this one! The reason listed on the sheet states a violation of SSR #9.7 which has to do with speed!!?????

ALSO on another note, it seems the morning warm-up will be on the video feed. So if you wish to see or check your connection of the link provided to you for the feed..... 10:15 - 10:35 local PDST (-8 BST)

really good quality. The image looks a bit stretched though? Like it's a wide screen on a smaller screen?

Highcroft sent to the back because Marino didn't do the minimum amount of laps in Official practice, schoolboy error by Highcroft.

Stream looks great here in the UK, just a shame that it finishes a little late in the morning for me to watch it all. Any word yet about whether this will continue all year?

Looks like the timing/scoring on the ALMS site is a few seconds ahead of the video feed.
