Terrible news. After all the injuries he's come back from, especially Brands, this is just tragic.

R.I.P Steve.

A tragic loss, I met him once briefly he took time to answer a couple of questions.

A great man and will be sadly missed.

Sad & Tragic - He did, however, pack more into his short life than most of us do in a much longer lifespan - Is this why the good die young ??

God Bless and a hug for your family - R.I.P

I only ever saw the man on TV but he was incredible to watch. The way he could set his bike up to perfection and put in some of the most stunning laps (like Donington last year and at Oulton frequently) was a joy and honour to behold.
This is such shocking news. If he knew he was going to be taken from us he would have preferred it on his racing bike.
RIP Hizzy

Gotta agree with that sentiment - Hizzy was pure entertainment, and I liked what he had to say off track too. What a terrible shame for those he leaves behind.

Only just heard.

My sincerest condolences to Steve's family, friends and his many colleagues throughout motorsport.

Somehow, it always seems more tragic when a rider/driver's life is cut short away from the track.

Such horrific news. I cannot believe it. I don't want to believe it. All I know is that Britain has lost one of it's finest motorcycle riders and the BSB paddock will be far worse off because of it.

Just saw Bike sport weeklies tribute programme on Men & Munters. Very well put together, with his friends and colleauges speaking honestly. What a terrible waste that it should happen just when he was contemplating stopping. Gone but not forgotten Hizzy !
