Van der Merwe 1st in 2nd race, Green 2nd, Antinucchi 3rd, all Carlin top 3. DNF's for Davison, Chandhok, Kane. England won Sholarship race.

Exactly 50 points in front of the battling Brits, Austin and Green. Race two Scholarship class was interesting, Karun and Steven holding one-two throughout until Kane tried to go up the inside at the last corner and.... oops! Vison won on the raod but was penalised for blatantly starting to race too early after a safety car period, so Christian England won.

Big well done to a Mr Wil Davison. Hands up I slagged him off after the opener and he weren't much better at Snett but the way he dominated the opening race and blew Van Der Merwe into the weeds was very impressive. Shame about picking up the damage which eventually led to his downfall in the second race as it would have been interesting to see if he could have had a go at Van Der Merwe. In the end it turned out to be the most boring F3 race I've ever seen up until the final corner when Kane and Chandhok had there coming together. Dunno what Kane was thinking of he came from miles back and it was never on. Would have loved to be under that awning when they both got back!
When are we going to see a good battle for the lead this year? It seems whoever gets through the first corner first not only leads but then pulls away miles into the distance. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a good battle at the front in the near future. What happened to Piquet? Man in the second race he got overtaken by Justin Sherwood! No disrespect to Sherwood but Piquet should be league's above him. Back to Davison it will be interesting to see if he can keep this going now and show that Croft wasn't just a flash in the pan. I remember last year that was the case with Antinucci and Bremer. Both showed strongly at Croft and Knockhill respectively but couldn't maintain that for the rest of the year. Hopefully this won't be the case with Davison though as we need someone to start taking it to the Carlin boys. Big up to Andrew Thompson who certainly shocked me with his pace at Croft and was very unfortunate to be barged out of the way during race 1. Whoever gave young driver contracts to Salignon and Speed though!? Those two boys have a lot to prove now. Speed can't blame the car anymore as Davison showed it is capable of running right at the front at Croft. As for Salignon, that Renault Eurocup grid last year must have been very short on talent! Hopefully another guy to prove me wrong though! Last edited by Gaz; 5 May 2003 at 21:44. |

Kudos to my sparring partner, Gaz! For having the guts to post above.
I agree, it will be very interesting to see how the year pans out. |

hey clivo's raced those circuits before... karun hadnt , clivo's been karting paractically through his teens and the gap between kane and karun was a constant second or more and karun dosnt particularly like crofts ...so should he make the jump to the championship class the next year (god willing) how about a wager and cat what gave you the impression that i knew karun ?

it really dosnt matter who had the fastest lap ... cat kane had nothing on karun that weekend the gap was always a second or more, and like i said hopefully next season should settle this argument ... i hear clivio's quite the speed deamon on cicilian roads as well ?
