Anyone notice the team that seemingly gained a sponsor midway through the day on their front bumper?

That's the one, Boost appeared on both cars after lunch, it was a great day, unbelievable access to the sport, just another benefit of being an ARDC member, congrats to the club for getting it's members this opportunity.

Perhaps maybe Castrol hasn't been added to Chaz's car (it still appears on his suit from what I remember) yet or they've jumped ship to Nissan

Things changed a few times last year with the 55's bonnet.

This year may well be the same.

One thing I don't understand from yesterday was why Cam Waters would run the whole day in a stealth livery without one mention of any sponsor on the car? I know it was a closed test day, etc etc, but not one decal, not one sign of who is or isn't paying the bills. To look at it in another way, would a team like T8 or Walkinshaw do similar??

Does it matter? Did it last year also

Maybe they believe they get more coverage out of a big announcement in clipsal week rather than caught up with everyone else before the test day

THIS EXACTLY !

How many "regular" backmarkers do we see do well in Test days and Friday practice but can do the deed on Money Day !

I'd have thought it'd matter to sponsors. You know, the guys writing the cheques. In the meantime, go have lay down, you seem tetchy.

Would this be the first time a sponsor has paid cash NOT to be on a car?

I heard they were subtly on the car

like i said. If they have a key launch coming up they may want to save the livery release to then to get more attention and exposure.

Test day was not telecast and a very limited audience in front of a crowd who knew that it was sponsored by Monster

Agreed. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

At least run a basic interim livery, if the season livery isn't finished, or whatever the excuse may be.

I do believe in this case though, that there may be some shuffling of brands between the 4 cars, to get the desired look required by the naming rights sponsor

And like I said, surely throwing a few Monster decals on it would make sense.
