ow oh, it's getting ugly... :
http://sportscar365.com/gt/24hseries...-proto-series/ I can see the ACO 'blacklisting' those who show up with their P3s before the ELMS season starts... |

Why is it ok for the ACO to use SROs formula with GT3, but when someone else wants to use something the ACO made, that isn't? Are they scared they'll get low LMP3 numbers if people go off to race in other series? Potentially one where they can get an overall win and longer races?
Unacceptable stance. Especially since they just want to run the stock LMP3s, not hack them up and call them Creventic Prototypes. |

The pound is still worth more than the US dollar though...1 pound equals ~$1.25.

I just read on DSC that the British prototype championship seems to be gaining in popularity. This series also utilizes lmp3 cars, so has the ACO chimed in on this championship too, or are Creventic the lucky ones?

I believe the Brits were smart enough to make that o so important phone call ahead of their public announcements.
Anyway, the article really highlights the success factors of LMP3, it's not hard to see why it's rapidly replacing GT3 as the desired class for teams and gentlemen drivers with daily news announcements about entries, purchases and what more (11 cars on the AsLMS entry list, 3 United Autosport cars to Gulf 12H and huge interest in the British series). Creventic's proposition compared to the ELMS (entry fees, travel costs, etc.) are very favorable so I won't be surprised to see the numbers they claim to have will actually be surpassed in reality! Hopefully their dispute with the ACO will be solved one way or another before the lights turn green. |

Controlling LMP3's expansion? Hmm, I have a bad feeling about this...
Beaumesnil: “We Want to Control the Expansion of LMP3” (via Sportscar 365) I hope ACO won't make BS regulations like limiting the number of cars manufactured per chassis maker or something. |

Correct me if I am wrong but Ratel didn't control GT3 in that manner and see what happened.

Granted if you do the ELMS, it does involve travel around Europe for the team. But unless the ACO entry fees, etc are astronomical by comparison, where is the difference? Surely the actual costs of running the car, operating the team, transporter and so on, has to be the same? |

All seems a bit odd since the ACO adopted GT3 rules, and even the name, for the GT3 Le Mans Cup.

I do not understand the position of the ACO in this discussion.
Crevetic only must change the name of class. Any team who buys a Ligier or other LMP3 is free to race it wherever they want. Crevetic also accept CN an LMP3 with another engine like Ginetta G57 in the series which means it is not exclusive LMP3. |

Any news on what happened to the Dome LMP3 car?
Also, nice to see Extreme Motorsport testing out the OAK Ligier P3 car. Of course, it won't be competing in any IMSA event soon. |
