Good effort from Mike Jordan - well done to him.

Seat did say they would be disavantaged here due to the straights though it may be a different story come the race. The GP loop would have been better for the Leon I guess.

Just back, A fair good effort indeed, he lost the most of the 2nd session this morning.

Dave Pinkney had a mis-fire in both the 1st and 2nd session and hats of to Synchro Motorsport and James Kaye who did his first flying lap of the day during qualifying due to an elctrincal fire at the start of the 1st session, which ruled him out of both that and the 2nd session

Crazy races - but I think Tim Harvey was right - none of those incidents can be blamed on malicious intent, just good hard racing which, erm, kind of went wrong.

I did cringe when I saw Collard heading off at the Old Hairpin though, incase that Astra was the target. How lucky is Matt Neal though!

turkington won it fair and square. and he deserved it anyway, he made 2 great standing starts, 2 great restarts and built up a couple of big leads. and the last corner move was tit for tat. they cant take that away from our colin!

Slightly dubious but just about Ok but some of the rest of the driving was a bit rock ape.
Even by BTCC standards that was like banger racing.

Did'nt see anything wrong with that move by turkington at the end. Giovanardi just left the door open and then relized to late and turned in.

They were all a little bit insane today, it was incredable how many incidents there were in races 2 and 3. The rain just made it worse.

so running all-wheels on the grass (off the racing tarmac) is fine then?

They've got to tighten up on the driving standards - a bit of contact every now & then is one thing but it's the norm currently.

It's exciting on times but someone is going to get hurt unless its tackled.

I think Giovanardi was mad at the start with Turks but then realised he was a bit silly to not defend with the MG so close behind him. All seemed to be fine on the podium.

Which ones ?

Tom Chilton lost it himself as far as I saw and Turkington was taking the racing line which was unfortunate for Tom as it left him no space.
Dave Pinkney - he ended up on the grass and off by himself.
Rob Collard / Matt Neal / Jason Plato - Matt Neal is an angel after all so nothing malicious would have happened here then ? Plato didn't have anywhere to go did he ?
Darren Turner / Turkington - looked like Turner lost it under braking from the pictures we were shown.

So what moves in your opinion were illegal ?

None taken. Nah, i don't think that running driving with all wheel's is safe but the reason why i think he ended up going across the grass was because Giovanardi turned in early and hit him. It was'nt a perfect move i have to say some will think it was dangerous and he that he skipped the chicane to his advantage but others will say that Giovanardi did'nt defend well enough and turned in early when he relized where turkington was, so it's really a bit of a grey area. I just think there were worse incidents in the races than that which should be investigated. Something does need to be done though before it becomes ot the top and someone will get hurt.

I don't think Colin did anything unfair - Fabrizio squeezed him to intitate contact. If Gio had gone through first as a result, I'd be suggesting that the win should be given to Colin. Agrred that Gio didn't seem angry once he spoke to VBH (maybe it was those come-to-bed eyes of hers).

The Collard-Neal-Plato incident in race 2 was a bit more questionable. Plato had nowhere to go to avoid Matt, but I'm not sure the contact between Matt and Rob was so unavoidable.

Anyone know why Fiona didn't race?

A few of the Indies really did well this weekend, Jordan and Murray in particular were a match for the works teams. A shame Eoin made a rookie mistake in the third race, but he'll learn from it.
