Silverstone F1 Testing
Anyone know which teams will be at F1 testing @ Silverstone on 18/19 June ?
Is it free entry for testing and are you limited to just part of the circuit ? I fancy going up subject to the weather as I've never photographed current F1 cars on track. Thanks for any info. Jeff |

Not sure who's going to be there, but as regards to access they open the Luffield section up to Bridge corner.
I was at testing this week and I found standing at Bridge was best because you basically get to see the cars through the whole of the stadium section. Also you get a good view over the debris fencing for photographs. If enough teams show up (as happened last June) they open the grandstands but I've only ever seen that once. As for entry, the only cost is the petrol to get there. Enjoy! Last edited by Spudgun; 8 Jun 2003 at 22:48. |

I've also heard not many teams will be there & that includes no Mclarens. (Something to do with the Friday practice at the GP's).
Williams was there last week - so fingers crossed |

Interesting if no McLaren's turn up... especially as the team are selling hospitality tickets for that event and organising McLaren pit garage visits.
I think I'd better ask a few questions... |

I've heard that McLaren have already sold plenty of hospitality tickets (£60 a head I believe) but rather than cancel they will set up a dummy pit garage for the punters to look at.

Are they going to fly their two dummy drivers in as well ?
Cardboard cutouts of them might have more to say, and be more realistic S |

McLaren have sold tons of hospitality tickets - not to me let me stress (Suzy has much cheaper ways to see testing and the paddock). Should be interesting to hear the fans moaning in the next issue of Racing Line.

Oh, I had no trouble getting in. My car pass got me into the paddock car park with no trouble at all.
