Photos of 1987 'Enny' M3 #42 (Cecotto / Brancatelli)

Hi all,

Would anyone have any reasonably good photos of the above car which raced in an 'Enny' livery at Donington in 1987 please? M3 chassis #1.

And any other info / results etc?

The car is shown here but in a slightly different livery, same colours & race number though.

http://www.fpm-modelcars.de/epages/6...742wm-3%20D%22

The owner would like to restore it to this period livery.

Thanks.

There's a photo of the #42 CiBiEmme entry at Donington here on Racingsportscars.com

http://www.racingsportscars.com/etcc...-04-05-042.jpg

IIRC the livery of the #42 car changed several times over the season- the 'Rudy Project' sponsorship seen on those decals you linked to didn't appear until late-ish in the season (around the TT-
neither the 'Enny' or 'Rudy Project' sponsorship is evident at Brno
http://www.racingsportscars.com/etcc...-08-16-042.jpg )

The #42 car also acquired Mark Petch Seals sponsorship for the Aussie/NZ races at the end of the year, and had run in black 'Lease Plan' colours at Spa.

I've also got a vague memory that CiBiEmme may have raced more than one chassis as their #42 WTC/ETC entry that year, with a new car taking over at some point in the second half of the season? Anyone able to confirm that? I think they ran the full WTCC plus a handful of ETC rounds with Johnny Ceccotto, Gianfranco Brancatelli and occasionally Riccardo Patrese, plus Mauro Baldi joining them at Spa. The CiBiEmme entries usually raced as #42 and #48, but occasionally #48 & #60 in the ETC races

Obviously I checked "Bathurst 1987" but no side on photos. Only front and back. I've not checked video, maybe on there.

Andy, you'd try to get in touch with Bruno Chiazzaro, the "C" of CiBiEmme, if I'm not wrong he'd be in charge of the technical side of Roberto Ravaglia operation, RoAl Motorsport http://www.roal-motorsport.com/en/index.html I'm sorry my magazines archive is still in a sorry state, otherwise I'd have checked there have a rear wiew pic from Monza WTCC car, and livery seems to be different, IIRC can confirm they relied on race-by-race sponsorship deals, and this doesn't help

CiBiEmme had quite a few cars in `87. At least 5. One of which was the CIVT National Championship car so they could have used as many as 4 different cars during `87. The last car they built was in May `87 which almost certainly would have been specifically for the Spa race. PM me I might be able to give you some more info on your car.

The car Cecotto/Brancatelli used at Fuji was definatly a different car to what they had used at Bathurst, Calder & Wellington, as Mark Petch took over that car after Wellington (and won at Pukekohe the next weekend courtesy of Brancatelli and Allan Grice).

I've only seen a 'pack photo' from the first lap of Fuji, and all I can see are M3's in the factory colours, i assume the Cecotto/Brancatelli car from that race is one of those.

As I remember, the Brabham/Fangio BMW Motorsport car at Bathurst was in Motorsport colours and run by the CiBiEmme crew. Could that have been the car Cecotto/Brancatelli used at Fuji?

Not much in the way of photos, but this race report might be of interest to the car's owner.

For the record, the Ci Be Emmie crew only ever worked on the car owned by myself, and driven by Brancatelli and Cecotta.

Hi Alex, I received an email from Gianfranco yesterday stating that the Ci Be Emmie team only ever had the one car, which was purchased by myself and is now owned by Peter Sturgeon in Christchurch NZ.

I have remained in close contact with Branca's ever since he drove for Eggenburger in the 1985 ETCC which he and Thomas Lindstrom won.

Indeed our friendship resulted in me purchasing the Ci Be Emmie car prior to Bathurst, and also in arranging for him to visit New Zealand and drive Peter's car at both the SKOPE meeting and two weeks later at the Invercargill historic meeting atthe Teretonga circuit.

Its not generally well known but Gianfranco took over the ownership of Ci Be Emmie in 1989/90 before the team was finally closed down.

Cheers,

Mark.
