Used Dunlop CR65 - 550 L14

Good news; after three years, our MGB is finally ready to hit the track! Bad news; we've run out of budget (at the moment) for a brand new set of Dunlop CR65s.

I've checked with HP and they don't currently have any part worns in. They're going to get back to me on Monday (after the Equipe GTS relay at Silverstone) but, as we've got the first outing lined up for 13th October at Goodwood, I want to make sure I've got some tyres ready. I'm not sure the cheap ditchfinder specials we've been using on the 4.5-inch rims are really made of the right stuff for the track!

So, I don't suppose any Ten Tenthers have a secondhand set (550 L14) that they wouldn't mind parting with? I'm happy to pay, we just don't want to do our shakedown/winter testing on a brand new set, especially as there are sure to be a number of niggles to sort once we get going in anger.

Funny you should post that, I'm after a set of 5.50 L13's for a dry build as well . . . .

Might be able to help you out with that - just need to check whether or not we are planning to take the Gilbern to Portimao or not :P

Is that a set of 550 L14s, or the L13s that Joe's after? Do you know what his TenTenths username is, as I could send him a private message then. Happy to collect from HoT.

Apologies, but doesn't seem like we'll have a set spare until after Castle Combe Autumn Classic. A few other have chimed in so hopefully one of them might come through for you.

No worries. Does anyone know Nick Morrison's handle/username on here?

Also, if all else fails, Combe's Autumn Classic is technically before our planned outing at Goodwood on the 13th. It'd be a bit of a mad rush collecting and fitting the tyres potentially though.

Good point. PM me if you have no luck elsewhere, but I agree that it might be a bit difficult. The tyres would be up near Chester.

For the MGB? Yes, it's the only available width for 14-inch diameter wheels.

Blimey! I didn't realise Appendix K was so strict that we all needed 1965 date-stamped tyres too!
