FIA GT Rnd 10: Zolder 19-21 Oct 2007
Looks like Carsport Holland/Phoenix will enter their Aston Martin DBR9 for Fassler and Golin to try to get some cars between Hezemans and Deletraz and the rest of those tied for 2nd in points so they can pull off the championship. Of course Hezemans and Deletraz will probably have to finish first or second to win and they haven't had much success when they've had a lot of ballast weight.

they are gonna struggle; why don't they race the Aston, on Michelins?
could they go ballast-less? |

I think the weight penalty comes with the drivers, and not with the car. Last year Menten raced in Dubai with the Zakspeed Saleen, and he got a weight penalty for his second place in Paul Ricard with the PSI Corvette.

Anyone know the situation with PK Carsport and their appeal to the civil court?
It could affect the championship. |

Probably not decided, and i don't reckon it'll go anywhere but vitaphone; they have a habit of doing well in these situations!

it will be a huge batlle for both classes in Belguim, I wonder if the Carsport Holland squad could won the drivers titles, in GT2 it will be crazy if Collard/Malucelli win the championship, over the 2 AF Corse cars !

I expect the AF Corse cars will cruise to the finish line and take the championship though, they dont have to risk anything now!
GT1, interesting - 4 'cars' in with a realistic chance of taking the championship. An 8pt gap with 1 race left is too much for Jetalliance #33 IMO, they'd need to win and have no-one above them in the championship higher than 3rd, Tomas Biagi would need to be 7th at the highest (would make both cars joint on points, but the Aston with 1 more race win). Now, reading it that way, if PK Carsport have a good weekend, and the #36 qualifies well again, and ofcourse theres the other Playteam Maserati and a few more....it could quite well be on for them too, albeit with a far harder job than those ahead of them! |

hopefully lieb and basseng in the factory backed ProSpeed 997 RSR can make it difficult for the AF Corse ferrari's.

for BMS it will be really difficult! i am really sure the AF advanced engineering car will be there too... so for BMS the only real opportunity is to have a very wet weekend... otherwise 1 of the 2 AF Corse cars will finish before them....

anyway it was a great season for BMS with that Porsche, winning Spa 24 Hours with a great Collard the only factory driver in the series, and Malucelli one of the best new talent of the FIA GT !

Mueller and Vilander have very little penalty weight and should do well.

it'd be excellent, but probably unfair on AF Corse.
OF Corse AF Corse will win GT2. Biaggi for GT1 is the likely imo. |

Dirk Mueller has been the fastest driver in GT2 this year and I believe with the lack of penalty weight, he and Vilander will be the fastest car at Zolder in GT2. The question will be reliability. They have been very strong in all of the 2 hour races except last week. I believe that was an anomaly and they should be back in form this week.

Why? Surely FIA GT is more important?
Or have they just decided to not bother thanks to not being championship contenders? |

That PMB Motorsport Porsche is apparently off the list already...(just like it was at the Spa 24H and Spa 1000km).
How many penalties did Edil Cris get lately? Perhaps that, in combination with them not being able to win the title, has led to the decision not to go to Zolder? |
