That's American livery if I ever saw one, for Dragonspeed's Oreca 05
Debuts at Sebring beforehand of course There's also been ton of LMP3 announcements and semi-announcements in and between but the amount is getting to the point where you just want to wait for the official ACO February announcement. |

Yves Courage can enter a BR01 for ELMS season. Should be interesting. http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/yve...ne-europeenne/

And Harry Tincknell takes the other seat. Tincknell, van der Garde, Dolan is not a bad line up. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/122461 |

Is that a (fake) platinum-platinum-silver combo?

So far Jota have announced:
ELMS (Gibson 015S): Harry Tincknell (P), Giedo van der Garde (P), Simon Dolan (S) Spa WEC (Gibson 015S): van der Garde, Dolan, Jake Dennis (S?) LM (Gibson 015S): van der Garde, Dennis WEC (ORECA 05): ??? Presumably Dolan will do LM in one of the cars. With no third car for Spa and LM will we see some Audi drivers do the full WEC season in the ORECA, or maybe Tincknell move across to the ORECA for the Big Race? |

I can see both Tincknell and Dolan move over if Jota only receives one entry for LM (their WEC entry guarantees one spot but the other is up in the air as they do not have an auto invite).

Anyone know where I can find (if anyone's even trying to keep track) an entry list tracker for the 2016 ELMS season?

Not that I know of. There are billion projected LMP3s so I'm not sure anyone's even bothered to keep up. It might just be the single biggest boom within single category in a while. Interestingly, many also seem to opt co-running them in vdev instead of FFSA GT.

Yeah but there have been plenty announcements since then
It will be difficult to find many non-Oaks on the P3 grid. |

As if there weren't enough interested teams/drivers already! Seems there might be too much if we are to believe Kox:

(*by teams themselves, not the ACO obviously) Imo the ACO should consider opening their Michelin GT3 Cup open to P3s - they let them race in the LM round already anyway. If not, VdeV, FFSA GT, Supercar Challenge's Superlights and the newly announced Dunlop Britcar Prototype Series could see strong numbers joining their ranks. |

How many of those are non Oaks though... I am aware of some ADESS entries, and leftover Ginetta
Regarding hypothetical bloom at the HTTT, would be nice indeed to have one weekend that became more than just 'a round' here as well, and this here would help quite much. I don't know what the grid limit of Ricard is though (and since this is ACO, if they'd even try to go near it). |

Also, Villorba Corse is switching to Ligier from Ginetta. |

So the numbers will probably be (give or take one or two): P2 - 15 P3 - 15 GTE - 8 makes 38 - with a likely hard cap of 40. The days of 50+ protos & gts are definitely gone... |

Is there a point to have any GT category in the ELMS from 2017 onwards? Clearly the attraction of the ELMS is for privateer prototype teams LMP2 or LMP3 now.

^ Once the grandfathered LMP2s had been phased away, that would be the ultimate spec series then... four chassis LMP2 with identical engines and mostly spec components, and LMP3 filled probably with only Oak chassis, making it basically LMPC.
Anyway... gonna laugh hard if the "capacity gap" for LMP3 is put for 15 or even 20. And even harder if the reasoning for that was making sure that the field is small enough so that it can meet the artificial 45 cap grid shared with GT3 at Le Mans, lol. That would be even worse than the WEC capping since it's just support race (and not all are even entering it) But since we don't know any better yet, and it might be just teams folding out for whatever other reasons, lets not go to conclusions yet. What is the minimum max cars allowed at the tracks on the calendar? Can they handle any more than 40?

Does it really matter what the real limits are, ACO makes them up. At the 2011 ILMC Spa they had 54 cars, then year later for WEC the maximum was artificially lowered to 42 (on circuit capable of 70+). Similarly Silverstone 1000kms used to have up to 50 cars, then if you look at the garage allocations now many are luxuriously filled with FIA delegate and extra storage space that wasn't there before. And ACO has responded that they may accommodate "one or two" guest cars (for WEC), and even if that is figurative it kinda yells not ten guest cars even if there was theoretical desire from teams for such...
Anyway, regarding those real limits for ELMS tracks, IDK about RBR and Estoril but the other four tracks can have more than fifty. Even Imola had plus 50 for the ILMC. Paul Ricard had 58 cars starting the race for the Creventic 24 hours last year Last edited by Deleted; 26 Jan 2016 at 18:40. |

Look what happened at the latest 24hr race at Dubai. That's part of the reason why I think the aco decided to limit entries. You can't let everyone in, or you can and you get crashes and drivers/teams reacting in a negative way. Then what happens? Teams decide to walk and race somewhere else. The wec just lost kcmg. They say it wasn't from the Fuji incident, but that looks like a nice way of saying "you screwed us, so screw you". Of course it could always be that they want bigwigs and limit garages so big shot teams can have more luxury...
