ALMS: Live Qualifying Online Saturday, 2:35PM ET


SPEEDtv.com, the American Le Mans Series, and Radio Le Mans team up to deliver the first ever live streaming Series qualifying session online this Saturday from Mosport.

We stream Grand Am qualifying from New Jersey next weekend.

(FYI--it's our first such endeavor, so I'm not expecting it to go off without a hitch or two. Or ten. Constructive criticism is welcomed--I expect a laundry list of improvements internally and from viewers. Email me HERE.)

It is actual track side coverage? Being available from the "Acura On-Board Pass" is confusing because previously that has been only onboard cameras (which is great, during the races).

Yes it is actual live trackside coverage. How much on board, if any, that will be available for it would probably be best answered by mpme. Be sure to e-mail Marshall so he can show SPEED that it is appreciated by the fans/viewers.

The on-baord player is just a protal to be honest; it'll show whatever video we want to feed it.

Our TV team usually shoots the entire Qual session like it was the race--it's the final major run-through done before the race, so I'm expecting the on-board player to fire back footage, albeit at a much lower 'web' quality, that looks and feels no different than how our race images look.

Sorry--can't splell. It's a 'portal'.

I agree. We don't expect the image quality to be stunning, but it's a first attempt. Improvements are already being discussed for the future.

Works well so far. No one expects high definition from a webstream but it could have little bit higher bitrate. On the other hand audio quality is ok.

GT qualifying is over and I must say it was great to see. Hopefully this will be repeated at some courses in the future. Can't wait to see the Protos run.

It was just announced that Detroit qualifying will be live on Speed TV next Friday. Sounds great.

There was 1hr of satellite time booked for the stream and we had to scramble to alter things to adjust for the later start to qualifying. That's where the Salo pause came from. Glad we were able to extend our broadcast time to account for the session running almost 30min over. Woohoo! I think it went great.

Yes, this was amazing! Very pleased, and loved the RLM + Video combination!

No offense to the other speed announcers, but they simply don't have the passion and energy of Hindhaugh and Shaw.

Looking forward to Detroit, for sure!

Any chance of these being added to the On Demand section as well?
