ALMS at Road America

The first practice session ended about 30 minutes ago...

The ALMS site is already doing the Trans Am practice on the timing & scoring, but I believe the top five were (but don't quote me:

1. Champion Audi
2. Intersport 675 Mg-Lola
3. Joest Audi
4. Dyson 675 MG-Lola (Weaver)
5. Dyson 675 MG-Lola (C. Dyson)

Check this when the story is posted and correct it, but the first three are correct...

One of the two Dysons was fourth, and I believe it was weaver, but not sure....

The other Dyson was 5th or 6th...

Sorry it isn't more accurate than that , but I wasn't expecting the page to change so quickly and I got tied up with something else...

Who is driving for Champion?

This ought to be an entertaining race anyway, i saw the race on satellite TV at my Granddad's last year, and was in awe at the cars and the circuit

I didn't think it would suit the MG's well enough to put them where they are, but at least if they qualify in that order, it will give the Champion guys a good chance of Winning.

Great! The series may only have a few good cars but they make the most of it. The 675's and 900's about equal, just as the ACO thought. How were the Panoz doing ?

Is this on US Tv (NBC ?) on Sunday afternoon? Hope so as in FL again for the weekend.

No probs. Not such a sunny outlook for Champion then (i'm bored of Joest supremecy, have Champion actually won this year?)

Champion have won a race, yes.

Mainly thanks to JJ's fantastic pass on the outside at the start. I think Road Atlanta.

i can't blieve the Lola performance at a power track like Road America.
did any one watch speed GT at RA? it was a cracker of a race, and the ending (last green) laps demolition was terrifying.
the BMW train chasing the Porsche and Audi was so very great to see. good stuff that, now can we see Panoz win this year?

Less than half a second between the Gavin Vette (1st) and the Enge/Kox 550 (3rd) in qualifying. I'm sure Brabs and Mags aren't too far behind. The race will be on Speed at 2pm EST.

Pirenzo, the MGs have already showed themselves as a fast straight line kind of car two years ago at Le Mans, remember? I just hope that they can survive this one. The Vettes seem to be a match for the 550s in speed, but I'm sweatin' on the tires pretty hard now. If Care can double stint the Michelins, it's probably over, unless Goodyear has finally got a hard tire with good grip. I can't seem to find info on the GTS tire war. I don't suppose there exists a site with a pit stop summary from each race that tells what was done on each stop and when?

I have a funny feeling we might be in for another MG win 2morrow. As I send in an e-mail to the ALMS Radio after there win early in the season had the work team not pulled out at the end of last year I reckon they could have won Le Mans...........

so far the stop and goes include:

intersport - the refueler didnt have his googles on
corvette - passing under local yellow
panoz - ramming one of the dyson cars
dyson - hitting a ferrari 360

the dyson one didnt happen since he was taken out on the lap he was given the black flag
