Car is not capable of completing races (yet?), just aiming for outright fastest laps. Interestingly car has BHF, but no headlights or BHH.

Destined for some ALMS guest appearances?

It's been rumored before. They're apparently only going to run ALMS races with that.

some time ago drayson said that he would join ALMS with their complete electric car! In my opinion was too much clear that a car like that could do maybe good timelaps in qualifying but won't never had enough autonomy to stand for a 2h45m race. I don't know how much is possible a battery change during pit stops

The electric Drayson-Lola uses inductive charging. So it is not designed with a changeable battery pack in mind.

Fairly sure Drayson purchased multiple energy storage/research companies.
I can specifically remember one that had patents on a particular form of wireless battery charging.

They might not intend on competing any time in the near future with related technology.
It would suggest they're considering further development, though.

It isn't designed to run more than a few laps... it certainly cannot complete any races. I doubt it competes in any real races at all.

Drayson always been a very ambitious character, wouldn´t be surprised if his car shows up at some place - Long Beach in ´eco friendly´ California comes to mind - just to showcase the speed and potential of it while continuing to increase the car´s stamina and aim for a future Le Mans run (could be 2013´s innovative 56th spot).

Based on what has been said so far, 2013 is awfully ambitious. I think it'll run about 20 minutes max right now. I don't believe it is currently designed to allow quick changes in the batteries.

Not read any reports on the Drayson Lola launch yet but I'd be most interested to see what systems can be transfered to a regular P1 rather than hoping the whole package has any hope of competing in the near future.

That could be the competitive advantage Lola need now they're facing tough competition such as HPD.

Looks like Jota are close to announcing their plans for this year. They sent a tweet today saying their 2012 programme would surprise a few people. Hopefully that means they have a prototype lined up.
