Theres a fair choice of tyres on list 1A which I have to run on my MG ZR in the Drayton Mannor Metro Cup....

It would narrow the choice, but there are only three makes worth considering,Dunlop,Yoko's or Toyo. Possibly depends on your budget?

I think all the MGs in the Castle Combe championship run Yokohama AD08s. Certainly all the fast ones do.

AD08s seem to be an intresting tyre - yoko describe them as a track day tyre, but I've never heard of them before!

As above, the Yokohama AD08 is the tyre of choice at Combe and for hillclimb runners when 1As are needed.. The racers at Combe all seem to have a "wet" tyre as well (Yokos are obviously a bit iffy in serious wet conditions) and a lot have Uniroyal Rainsport 2s..

Ah but what what about 1000kg FWD with front struts and rear torsen beam? That is your reference point, not only your series, but anyone who uses the same list
