Possible points breakdown

I have been curious on what has to happen to have Gil win the Championship, but have not found any helpful info. So I had to dig up the info myself. I am a little suprised none of the IRL formum regulars haven't put anything like this up yet(unless i missed it). If there are any errors or you want to put up other possible points senarios please do.

Helio, Scott, and Tony just need to win

If Sam wins and leads most laps=500 points
he needs HCN and SD to finish 4th or lower

Gil wins and leads most laps=489 points
HCN has to finish 8th or lower
SD has to finish 9th or lower (Tie breaker is involed if he is 8th and they would both have same # of wins, don't know the other tie breakers)
TK has to finish 6th or lower

GO Gil
or any body but Sam

I gave them the 2 points most laps lead, as that is the variable without it and someone else gets it who could use it, and things get interesting

If you take time to find more senarios for the win, please post them

Thanks for taking the time to do that boom boom, interesting stuff

So it's most likey that Helio, Tony and Scott are the main contenders for the title...still, anything can happen.

So Gil still has a chance!
Thank you, that really made my day!!! How great would it be to see him win this championship and really go out on top!?!? Go Gil!!!

What happens if 2 drivers finish level on points? Would they have co-champions like in 96?
