TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
CAT to SBR for 08 ???????????

From the Qld side of the powder room that Caterpillar could be on the second SBR car for 2008. Apparently Cat want to be a naming sponser.
Will be great news for SBR if it comes true.:

Time will tell.

James63 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Begs the question then as to why they left FPR?

Wonder how many more potential sponsors will be mentioned before all is revealed.

maybe CAT were in the running for Bights signature for next year but Fujitsu coughed up more $$$, so now they might say bugger you we will go elsewhere and IMO SBR would be good as long as a good driver is in #9 in 08?

sory to double post but i am having those pain in the broadband probs and my 10 mins has run out.

but i was going to add to my last post, we have had rumours of SCA moving to Tasman, Glenfords to wherever Mr Marshall purchases, so we could see the same colours but on different cars in 08.

CAT didn't offer enough $$$ for Naming Rights at FPR, were cheesed off and went to Britek as a support sponsor.
Maybe CAT have woken up to how much is required to be a big cheese in V8 Supercars.

The CAT sponsorship of FPR was said to be ~ 1/2 the going rate for a full commercial sponsorship, including naming rights.

It may suit to place the dollars at somewhere like SBR, who may be able to discount their deal because of the Ford contract assisting the team, however when the Ford arrangement runs out, the price to a commercial sponsor for the same space will likely increase accordingly....

That'd never happen at FPR, surely? It didn't happen with Castrol, nor with Orrcon, so why did it happen with CAT??

With the recent staffing movements at FPR, we might see FPV prices drop by around 50%....or maybe without Ford propping them up, we might not.

It's not like CAT don't have the money to pay full commercial rate, and the brand synergy is absolutely brilliant!!
