GTsports should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Two more Alfa's for Monza?

italiaspeed.com is reporting two additional factory supported Alfa Romeo
156's will be entered at Monza for the ETCC finale.

Good info about 2004 in the article as well.

Amazing! So many cars, so few short crappy races!!!

So basically for 2004:

Alfa want to run 6 works cars, possibly linking up with Clever Cats and Bigazzi.

Autodelta - Tarquini and Larini
Clever Cats ) Any of Colciago, Francia, Ruberti
Scu.Bigazzi ) , Tavano or di Micheli

And BMW want to run 9 cars!

I hope we get some more makes and some more parity in 2004. I think STCC has been more interesting than the ETCC this year. Not that the ETCC has been bad or anything - some of the races have been excellent - but for me STCC still has the edge when it comes to the overall package.

Sure, I'm biased, but to make an example, at one point during one of the two races at Mantorp a couple of weeks ago we had six - yes, six - different makes in the top six positions

Portello should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Two winning drivers (de Micheli, Tavano) from the N.Technology- organized 147 GTA Cup/Italy will start in Monza.
There will be more works- support for the Alfa 'Clever Cats' and 'Bigazzi'-Teams in 2004 too. The young drivers like Francia, Ruberti or Balzan will have to take more responsibility at the side of fhe Autodelta/N.Technology works-team in the future.

Fisichella joins Alfa Romeo
ETCC 11/10/03

Formula One star Giancarlo Fisichella will drive for the Alfa Romeo Autodelta team in the final meeting of the 2003 FIA ETCC. In the attempt to claim another European Touring Car Drivers’ title, the Italian team will run a five-car formation, with Fisichella joining the regular trio Gabriele Tarquini, Nicola Larini, Roberto Colciago and newcomer James Thompson. This is not the Touring Car debut for the F1 driver from Rome, as at the age of 22 he was part of the Alfa Corse 2 team in the 1995 International Touring Car Championship. “It will be like coming back to his roots,” said Autodelta team manager Monica Sipsz, “Because I was his team manager then. And our technical director Marco Calovolo was his race engineer.”

Fisichella’s best result was a second position in Mugello with the powerful Alfa 155 V6; he remained at Alfa Corse and in the ITC for the following season, in which he was classified sixth, with six podium results. That same year, his Formula One career took off. Since then Fisichella has driven for Minardi, Jordan and Benetton, before returning to Jordan again. He has competed in 124 grands prix, becoming one of the most popular and fastest drivers in the World Championship.

Sounds good to me..there's going to be some well known stars driving at Monza..Fischella, Zanardi, not counting all the full time touring car drivers..be good to see how Fisi rates against Thompson who will have the same ballast as him.

Anyone get the feeling Alfa mean to win this?- I'm surprised they haven't lined Schumi and Rubens up in a couple of 156s for this one....

I think it's great how one team are willing to put so much money and effort into one weekend to run 5 cars!

I guess when the going gets stuff, Alfa loads the grid up! Wow, can you imagine how much publicity the ETCC and Alfa would get if they got Schumi in an Alfa???

Great idea ! By the way: Schumacher has tested the 156 GTA S2000 a few weeks ago in Mugello - a sort of renewed historical handshake between Alfa Romeo and Ferrari

He already has - Sebastian Stahl raced for Autodelta in Oschersleben! He qualified 19th out of 21, got a DNF in race 1 and didn't start the 2nd race!
