Almost looking like the previous generation areo cars. (which are sorely missed IMO) If only the brought that kind of areo and the use of 1000bhp screaming engines. *Sighs*

Yeh! They look quite like the 2000 cars, don't they.

Be careful what you wish for. More aero usually equals duller racing

The cars still struggle to follow eachother.
Honestly, drop the DRS, give us nice looking cars again, and i'd be happy. I'm fine with the tyres. Selby |

I've been watching since 1998, and honestly, I did enjoy those races more.
But, that's besides the point, the tyres play a pretty crucial role now. Certainly more instrumental now than then, so there'd be a difference. Anyway, this wasn't really the debate, it was more just aesthetics Selby |

The narrow wing reminds me of Champcar.

Dump the scaffold, front wing should be single element the same width as the distance between the inside of the front rims.

That third picture looks spot on. Wheels out in the open, wider tyres, wider rear wing. Great.
Can you edit the chassis to make the tyres further apart to mimic the 2000mm width of the pre 1993 cars? |

I was actually thinking of trying that. Trying to get my head round just how to tackle it..! Would like to see it, though. I mean, I could easily crudely stretch it horizontally, but it would look a bit cheap.

I don't know if the original photo has distorted the true vision, but assuming that it isn't distorted, I had never realised just how much camber they ran on the front wheels. It really is pronounced.

I don't understand why they can't design the next rules from the ground up to give back aero passing. The corner speeds were to high for ground effects, so the story went, but now better tyres more downforce are making that happen anyway but destroys the air flow behind the car.

Evolution of design from known and current baselines is cheaper than revolution and blank sheet thinking and design.
Having said that, Ferrari's concept did give an idea of what could be done using some of the current baselines. |

The black Toro Rosso is very pretty, I really like the angel of approach to the camera too, it hides all the front wing scaffolding and the car looks much neater!

It just looks aggressive and beasty!
That's the great thing about the black - even head on it'd still cover up the nasty fiddly bits a little more. Selby |
