They should have been awarding it to the Formula Ford Champion - that list of drivers since F3/FHolden of the late 90's was awarded Gold Star status is rather impressive!

F4 Australia 2015
Possibly?? I'd put money on it.
Why else would they do this? I can't think of any other good reason other then to award it to the F4 champ. It's a pity the Gold Star doesn't have the kudos it used to.

So F4 appears to have taken entries away from Formula Ford (which has dropped from 22 entries in the last round of 2014 to 15 this year) and diluted both in the process. Great

Saw the bit on Fox last night where one of the broadcasters drove an F4 car at PI.
No mention of how many cars where at the test day at PI? Be surprised if less than 10 turn up at Townsville though. |

I stopped going to the V8 Rounds because of no open wheelers and started going to Shannon's Rounds to see F3 and FF , now what ? StAte Series? F4 will take a while to beat the other 2 classes as a driver development and spectacle class.

They will never kill off FF. it is too valuable and a much more affordable stepping stone in Australian motor racing.
Funny how F3 announced 11 entries for last wknd at EC. And cams announces 12 F4 entries for this wknd. Be interesting to see how many F4s finish this wknd. |

The 'Official' Entry List For Townsville
An alternate perspective...  I would be piddled off if I or my sponsor paid full price when few others are allegedly doing so... Wonder what might happen if the toys get scratched, and indeed whether the $250k prizemoney is still on the cards with so few entries... especially so few entries at allegedly full price...
