Rained hard at Zolder for a bit... There was a safety car period when one of the Focuses and a Porsche had an accident.

Leader is now the Vandereyt Porsche, 50 seconds ahead of the Wolf.

What did happen with the Porsche 962? The car did not race the last weekend

The 962 apparently didn't get a new engine in time for the race...

Anyway, here's the entry list for the (formerly 'Dutch') Supercar Challenge races at Brands Hatch next weekend:http://www.gt-eins.at/cgi-bin/GT1-Fo..._hatch_v-5.pdf

When you look at it really close, it's got bit of a 'plastic' feel to it, but regardless it's a beauty indeed. I wish that thing was run in somewhere bigger and maybe had small performance upgrade...

Anyway, found this little Japanese spec series called "Inter Proto Series". They only run at Fuji, their Kurumas have GT4-esque performance by the look of lap times and have split starts for pros and amateurs -for some reason- even though the grids are very tiny. Kinda look like Saleen S7-R and maybe Spyker C8 had a weird baby together.

You see that often at cars from small manufacturers.

Found that the IPS Kuruma also races in Super Taikyu - and under rather familiar sponsorship - which by the way is a series I'd like to see more of, but they don't appear to have any coverage other than some 10 minute event recaps posted weeks later. Also having literally nothing but Japanese press releases and info doesn't exactly help.

Like Super Formula, also that series ended it's season this weekend, but at Autopolis. GT3 Nissan GT-R of GTNet Motor Sports seems won the ST-X/GT3/overall championship (even if it's just a 4-car class and the gaps between cars are gigantic) and the previously mentioned IPS of Tomei Sports won ST-1 champ (against just one BMW in whole class, looks like max 3 entrants in whole year). In the even more touring car based classes champions were Towaintec Racing''s Subaru Impreza in ST-2 ie the only non Lacer Evolution in class, Asset Ings Nissan Fairlady in ST-3, Tracy Sports Honda S2000 in ST-4, and finally in ST-5 the champion was the Honda Fit3 RS of BRP J'S Racing.

Super Taikyu "promised" to determine it's calendar in November, and maybe it did but I just didn't notice it (their PR is garbage, english info page still say it too), but here it is for 2015

RD1) Mar 28-29 / Motegi 5 Hours
RD2) May 23-24 / Sugo 3 Hours
RD3) Jul 4-5 / Fuji 8 Hours
RD4) Aug 1-2 / Autopolis 3 Hours
RD5) Sep 5-6 / Okayama 3 Hours
RD6) Oct 24-25 / Suzuka *TBA*

As far as I can see the only clash with other major domestic series (ie Super GT and Super Formula) is between Sugo and SF @ Okayama

Those four alone, and some of the Porsches make it easily the most interesting GT grid in the world right now as far as I'm concerned.

It gets even better: According to a quick google search, the McLaren is one of the Schnitzer long tail ones...

It's just a pity that all these wonderful cars will have to run muffled.

Muffled? As in sound wise? Or usual bop nonsense for 'trying to not hurt anyone's feelings'? Though IIRC I thought this series was relatively free of such, uniquely...

Yeah, as in sound wise. No BoP there unless you run a GT3...

Though I do think that the GT3s might still be favorites for the overall wins. The Saleen was at Hockenheim already for a race in another series last year and only did 1:45s, while the GT3s usually run close to 1:40. Kuismannen and Herbeck will probably be near the sharp end, but I don't expect them to have a significant advantage over Bender in the GT3-Vette, by virtue of him (Bender) being a better driver. The F1 is the big unknown, though I've been hearing good things abut Gläser at another forum. Thing is, going all out with a rare collectible like the McLaren might be a bit too much to ask.

Well, and Fritz Kreuzpointer in the turbo-charged RSR should be in with a shot as well. Maybe Kierdorf, too.

Which is awesome...!

Sound restrictions ain't too bad to me. As long as they don't sound like diesels

God damn I'd love to see those races. Proper exotic GT cars I fell in love with and not just the usual generic stuff with you see in every other series today

If I had to guess the pace of those GT1 cars

McLaren
Saleen
Pagani
Viper (with mr Kuismanen in charge...)

Porsches likely in between the S7-R and Zonda

I'll see what I can do with my crappy phone camera, but there usually are some more professional videos of these races on youtube. No full broadcasts or anything, but done with better equipment, often some onboard shots as well.

Yeah very much so. Cannot wait to see some vision from this, it'll be like watching a Gran Turismo replay with cars from all different eras and classes of GT on the same track at once which doesn't happen so much in real life.

Major bummer: The F1 GTR has morphed into a plain MP4-12C on the most recent entry list for the GTC at Hockenheim.

Round 1 of French "GT-Tour" series this weekend at Ledenon.

Here's the entry-list:
http://www.gt-tour.fr/wp-content/upl...-10.4.2015.pdf

First weekend with the new 2x90minutes/3-drivers-per-car format.

And despite other plans over the winter still a GT3 only series with no silhouettes, GT-Cup-cars or Midjets. Looks like not many teams had much interest in playing second fiddle to the GT3s.

Still a lot of TBAs on the list, so I guess they'd be lucky to get all of those 19 cars (all of them Audis, Ferraris or Porsches) on the grid.
