The PLM being the possibly bigger event is a thing of the past anyways. As Hindy correctly pointed out a few minutes ago, starting next year the PLM will merely be a longer TUSCC round.

With them discouraging international entries from participating, the event loses a lot of it's status and becomes more or less a regular round of a national racing series.

BullMan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Because grates get dislodged and thrown into other cars and road crowning makes it impossible to control a car at race speeds?

The same thing they did with the Daytona 24. The world stopped caring.

Same is going to happen with Sebring and the US in general.

Would they ever cancel this race early or would they have to wait the full 6 hours?

If they see that there is no way they will get to race, they will call it. That's what they did at PLM in 2009. Cancelled it around 8PM after stopping it around 4PM.

I did read (on Wikipedia, so who knows) that FIA requires 3 laps to be completed to call it an official race.

8 were completed under the safety car, so...

If Gimmi Bruni is right and an hour of no rain is required to even get the track ready then the window is slowly but steadily closing anyways.

I think if the rain does not stop within the next 60-80 minutes it simply makes no sense to wait any longer - as much as it sucks.

Hopefully the update at 1pm will be them cancelling the event, Motors TV have taken to showing highlights from COTA.

Why would you want them to cancel an event? Theres 4 hours left at that time frame. They should get on with it. The rain is said to stop soon, so get the cars pumping that water off track and let them earn their pay.

The rain is also said to pick up again later in the afternoon.

If it takes around an hour to get going again and it might start raining again 1-2 hours before the finish, we're looking at an actual window of about an hour, maybe two at best.

Question is, does it make sense to go for that? Either way, we won't get a proper endurance race in today, that is already certain.

Because it isn't going to be restarted so if they cancel it now we can all go back to bed?

Any idea how much Nissan's infomercials are worth for RLM/John Hindhaugh?

Its actually TF110 I have seen heavier rain in SuperGT races at Fuji. There was no reason to not try a restart if you saw the weather radar.

I'm sure the business is effectively dependant on it.

Goes without saying that the restart will be behind the safety car.
