Printers
My printer has died and am looking to get a new one, the one that has taken my fancy is the canon iP5200 or iP4200, does anyone use either of these or could perhaps give any alternatives.
I am looking to spend about £100 and it will be required to be do normal document printing as well as reasonable photo prints. |

I have an iP5200. It's very quick and I've been extremely impressed with the results. Stick to Canon paper though. I tried Kodak 6x4 once - the black was over-heavy and the whole image had a reddish tint. The software that comes with it is versatile, easy to use and has nice features like borderless printing, x prints to a page etc. Oh, and it has a built-in duplex facility which is really handy for saving paper.

I have the iP4200, excellent prints, only had it 2 days. I compared my printers print with a recently developed photo and you cant tell them apart.

Same here, got iP4200 from the canon outlet on ebay.
So far no problems, seems to cope very well for what we need it for. |

I have a couple of 'em here. A good old trusty (was the benchmark in many photo mags) Epson Photo1290S, and for quick and easy printing (has card reader built in) and Epson R300. The latter has been updated by epson and is now the R302 I think, it does up to A4, it's simple to use, and under £100 if you have a search around.
I've used Epson, HP, and Jet Tec paper, all with no problems at all. I tend to use Jet Tec 6x4 most of the time with it (well the wife does!!) Rob. |

I've got the IP4000 (bought it a couple of months befoe the new model appeard
 ) and it prints great. Very fast, and looks brilliant on Canon Photo paper. Kodak paper is the worst stuff IMHO.

I've had an iP4000 for a while as well and been very impressed with it. Had no problems using Kodak Ultima paper, but have adjusted the print profile to suit. Details of what to change are on Kodak's website.
