Trivia Time: How Many 24 or 25 Hour Automobile Races Are There in 2006?

OK guys, test your endurance sportscar racing skills. How many 24 or 25 hour races are there this year? Car races only, amateur, pro, spec, prototype, GT, touring, anything as long as it's automobiles.

List the number of races, and location.

24 hour Citroen 2CV race at Mondello Park , in Kildare , Ireland . At least there used to be every year ?

There must be a 24 hour kart race someplace .... How did I do ?

We are just counting cars, not kart. There's a ton of 24 hour kart races around.

That 2CV 24 race happens at SPA now, so that's 6 you got. With the Silverstone 24 Hours, that's 7 so far. There are more...a lot more!

24 hour Kart races at Le Mans, Dubai and Spa there may be two Kart 24's at Le Mans there is one during the car 24 and another later in the year(I think)

That's part of the regular 24 Hours race since 2006. Audi won. Peugeot will challenge next year.

daytona 24 hours
lemans 24 hours
spa 24 hours
britcar silverstone 24 hours
VW fun cup 24 hours at spa
2CV 24 hours at mondello park or snetterton
dubai 24 hours
zolder 24 hours
24 hours karting at lemans
and i also believe bathurst 24 hours or is that 1000km?

The 24 Hours of Lemons, I'm not I'm going to count since don't race for 24 hours continuosly. They stop in the middle for rest and party. But, will add it to the final list just for kicks.

It has always beena 1000 kilometre race. There was a 24 hour race a year or more ago but for some reason it isn't organised any more.

The 1000 km race is for V8 Supercars. There was a 24h race until a few years ago. There are plans for a 12h race.

Currently yes, it´s for V8 Supercars. But it´s a forty years old race with a huge touring car history.

Yes there are two 24's at Le Mans for kart one that is run by a British group and one by the ACO for two stroke karts(i think 125cc). But there is not one during the main 24 LM though.

I did however compete in the 24 hour race that the British group ran (http://www.teessidekarting.co.uk/). It was run 2 weeks after the big race. The track is really fun to drive and well lit for the night. The karts used for that race are twin 5.5hp Honda's on a Biz Chassis, with a top speed of around 65 mph. There are two classes out there racing a hire(spec nothing can be changed on it and provided by race officals), and owner (a bit lighter and can do adjustments as are owned by teams). I raced my self on Team USA Red, White & Blue which was part of a three kart team that raced in the hire class from the US. Very good mix of teams running out there had one Team from Honda F1 and another from Red Bull. I would highly recommend running this race as it is very competitive and alot of fun.

It´s a pro-am touring car race for FIA Group A-N, Diesel and Single-make cups, and its first year was 1998. Currently there are six classes and the engines can´t exceed 3.500cc.
