in fairness though, the start system is the Merc's most obvious weakness as both drivers seem to be having issue with it this year.
as for the anti stall device i agree. for the sake of competition by allowing mistakes to happen, a little less technology in this area would go a long way at improving the show. |

Sky showed the Italian Sky Pad being operated by their man with Lewis commenting on the pole lap and I felt it showed just how a top driver has to have his mind on lots more than the drivers of 20/30 years ago. It has been said before but the modern F1 driver at the top of the tree is more like a fighter pilot than a race driver. The problems are not with the engineers or the drivers, they are with the over complex formula to which they are working Can't help but be disappointed by Mike's reference to idiots |

Alonso's radio transmission during the Italian Grand Prix was very funny, but also in just a few seconds hi-lighted the despair he must be feeling to go from WDC and numerous race wins every season to hoping that a fairly average driver in a rookie team experiences tyre degradation so that they can potentially move up to 12th place.
For those that missed the transmission, towards the end of the race after he had been overtaken by Button:- [Race engineer:] Okay, Fernando, let’s keep the pace going strong ‘til the end. Grosjean is still out there on eighteen-lap-old option [tires], he may come towards us. [Alonso:] HAHAHAHA! Alonso subsequently pitted and on fresh tyres with little fuel onboard set the fastest lap, purely I think for the fun of it. I can see why McLaren have placed a retainer on Button for the next couple of seasons. Surely Alonso is not going to want to spend the rest of his career battling towards the bottom end of the midfield in the McLaren? |

I just want to say that the world title is a great battle with Nico getting a little bit closer to Lewis, taking advantage of Lewis' misfortune to get the chance to win the title after the middle of the year slump and I don't know what to expect from the next few rounds of the championship
